Ugh oh.... looks like rain on Saturday. Will South move Saturdays game up to friday to ensure all 3 games get played or will they hope for the best on saturday?

South must win 1 more game than CCU this weekens, right?

That is appears to be correct.

USA is 34 and 18,
CCU is 34 and 18, with 1 tie

Overall records mean nothing. Conference records are what matter.

But yes, which ever team wins more games this weekend (USA or Coastal) becomes the conference champion. (UTA could get back into the mix too if some stuff went their way...go read the article BoP wrote for good detail).

If both win the same number of games, USA would be named the champion because of the BS tie ULL created with us.

Which is annoying as a Coastal fan considering we went on the road and won the series against USA on their own field, but hey, those are the rules so we would have to deal with it.

Hopefully we do what's in our control this weekend and sweep App.

Watch South win two this weekend, get in a scenario where they clinch with a rainout and *accidentally* forget to tarp the field Friday Night...

It's a Sun Belt Baseball tradition, not scheduling doubleheaders the last weekend of the year unless you know you have to play all three games for seeding reasons.

*cough cough* see Troy @ South '15

"Troy still needs to win both of the remaining games in the series to claim the regular season Sun Belt title. South Alabama needs to win just one be crowned champs"

.... and South proceeded to cancel the last two games of the reg season.

Lets see if the same thing happens this year.

I was a bit surprised to see Calvi start Andy Arguelles tonight against arguably the best pitcher in the conference (who has been incredible lately). Andy pitched well against LSU and Auburn, but has struggled a lot at times (most freshmen do) as well.

This should be a good matchup between a great pitcher on a 36+ inning scoreless streak and one of the best offenses in the country.

The Trojans nipped us.

Troy tops South Alabama 5-4 in 10, knocks Jaguars out of first place

I'm just thankful the phrase "laser focus" wasn't used.

I'm not a baseball fan. The sport died to me during the 2nd strike. However, I do like the word stanky. Eddie Stanky is good in my book due to his early support of desegregation in professional baseball. Stanky... that's a funny word.

Imagine if USA had also had Mississippi State's legendary coach Dudy Noble (whom their field is also named after).

Stanky Dudy Field.
