WMU's all world coach is gone, and I think the fall will be more dramatic than anticipated. Boise State returns very little and we have yet to see what Bryan Harsin can do with his own recruits. It's possible Troy can sneak up on them in game one.

You end up pretty much where you are quality-wise but with a little reduced travel. Why is that worth breaking up a Sun Belt that is already rising?

It's not unless every program can save more than $500k in travel annually. Based on the average per team payout from the G5 payout thread, the Sun Belt outpaced CUSA by $484,445. That number goes up once the conference reduces the number of programs from 12 to 10.

I don't get all the love for WMU. They lost their all-world head coach and replaced him with a first time guy from Perdue. I have mixed feelings about APP at #3. I'm not sure they're that good, but when I look at what's below them it makes sense.
