I know Singletary is kind of the hot topic because of his play in a couple games down the stretch, but I don't see how anyone ranks ahead of Cox/Lawry....plus they have depth behind them.

Lawry tends to get most of his yards against bad teams/defenses, imo. Has he had dominant performances against good teams?

8 carries for 27 yards against Western last year.

Short answer, yes. He had 119 yards against App State last year; 136 against WKU and 160 against Marshall in 2015; and 149 against WKU and 132 against Marshall in 2014.

Last year Lawry averaged 6.3 yards per carry. In comparison, Ito averaged 5.7. I think they are two very good backs.

Lawry has had some minor injury problems (mostly ankle) over the past two years causing him to miss some games and see limited action in some others. He has also split time with Jeremy Cox who rushed for 732 yards last year. In spring training this year, the Monarchs used a new formation with a tight end and both Cox and Lawry in the backfield. Could be an interesting running attack for ODU this year.

Hard to tell, we didn't face many last year.
