As long as the MAC is Top 3 on this list consistently I would say that's pretty much the ceiling for MAC football in terms of $$$ coming into the league. Not bad. The challenge is not to get into an arms race believing it can get any better. Without SUSTAINED average attendance of at least 30,000 or more this is it. Adjust accordingly and try to get other sports more financially viable.

I am of opinion that in the future most of the TV money will be from the CFP (in fact it already is).

ESPN will be reluctant to drive up TV dollars for conference TV deals any higher. The MAC will probably be where it is with its conference $$$ for a long time. Hungry for more $$$ the P5 will eventually expand the CFP and a larger windfall will be in store for the MAC.

It could be as much as $40 or $50 million BUT that isn't enough to change the fundamental position of the MAC relative to the P5 conferences.

CFP money is nice, will be interesting to see what next round of Conference TV deals look like AAC is in early negotiation/discussions with Netflix and Hulu about partial coverage, the 90% of games that have been relegated to Watch ESPN.

While Fox/ESPN/CBS/NBC would still get limited game of the weeks, like they currently do. Looks like they might get the 10-15mil per member range out of TV.

RE: Conference CFP Revenue
I understand we have PJ and Western to thank for the majority of this, but what other factors are calculated into how much each conference receives for CFP?

That is a good point. 2016/7 was a 'banner' year for the MAC, which 99% chance will not be repeated in 2017/8.

The MAC got a nice share of CFP monies which was distributed to WMU as expenses for their bowl game plus sharing among the 12 member schools. I believe WMU got two shares with the other 11 schools getting a single share.

I forgot how much all of that comes to but I want to say 6M. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

RE: Conference CFP Revenue
So what exactly do these schools do with this extra revenue coming in? I'd hope they put it towards offering larger contracts to a successful coaching staff and/or renovations to their football facilities.
