I don't know where you guys are

playing Clemson tomorrow will help then we will drop playing Ap this weekend

If we win vs App I doubt we drop much - losing would hurt though.

USA wasn't hurt by playing App because it was a road game. CCU might feel the sting just because it's a home game, win, lose, or travel arranged tie.

Point of order: Wouldn't a travel arranged tie help Coastal in this case? Doesn't RPI treat a tie like a rainout? It never happened.

Ok, so we need a travel arranged tie for 3 games.

I thought for RPI it would add .5 of a win and .5 of a loss to the W-L record before the other calculations are made.

A tie is not disregarded. It's 1/2 win, 1/2 loss

So, they should probably just pray for a lot of rain then?

Southern has the highest win total of anybody outside the top 39 in RPI. Our SOS is killing us.

Top of the 8th, Coastal leads Clemson 8-7.

We have runners on 1st and 2nd with 1 out.

We were losing 7-1 and have gone off on a 7-0 run to take the lead.

Come on, Chants!

Did you guys seriously just intentionally walk someone to bring up Seth Beer with the bases loaded? How did you expect that to end?

Aaaaaaaand we lost. 11-8.

We seem allergic to beating the really good teams we play this year.

Sorry Sun Belt.

It's easy for you to say that now. Hindsight is always 20/20 but it was the right call to make considering the situation.

I was at the Clemson game tonight. I felt a pitching change or two and we could have pulled off the victory. 03-weeping Anyways, it was an epic battle and I'm afraid we'll have to win the conference tournament to get any respect by the NCAA come seeding time since this was our last chance to add to our resume with a top ranked win...

RE: RPI-baseball
Troy lost to #13 Mississippi State, 10-8.

Troy gives up an 8-3 lead by bringing in a bunch of ineffective pitchers. MSU ties it at 8-8, but Troy brings in their relief pitcher (who's probably the best pitcher on the staff) who strikes out 3 of the 8 batters he faced in just 1.2 innings of work.

But what does the Troy coach do? Takes out the hottest pitcher on Troy's roster who was only in for less than two innings, and brings in our "closer" who has been terrible over the last half of the season. The "closer" pitches 1 inning, giving up a walk, three hits, and two runs to give Mississippi State the 10-8 win.

Troy definitely snatched defeat from the jaws of victory tonight.

AState takes a different approach and starts the guy tonight that they will likely start in the tournament opener on Tuesday.

The result was 7 shutout innings and a 5-0 win over Ole Miss in Jonesboro. 2nd straight home win for us over the Rebels.

Honestly baseball coaches / managers try to hard sometimes there is a reason they are the lowest paid of the major sports.

AState set a school record attendance last night: 1,188

Its also the first time in years that our school attempted to actually market a baseball game.
