I don't know if it's true that the PAC is that desperate to get into Big 12 territory, but it would certainly make things easier if they were.

I think this is another ploy. The PAC plays the OU and any other 3 card in order to attract the interest of Texas. Texas wants no part of the Big 10 and doesn't really care much for us, unless they have to. By fishing for OU, Texas may jump in that pond and take the offer of Texas and three buddies.

I still think it does more to balance the power for the future if Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Texas Tech head to the PAC.

The Big 10 is then limited to Kansas and Iowa State/Connecticut.

Notre Dame and Cincinnati to the ACC.

T.C.U. and West Virginia to the SEC.

But, if the money isn't right, and likely it will not be, then everyone in the Big 12 is in play.

I don't think we ever see symmetry among all the power conferences. The asymmetrical aspects of college football are major reasons that it is so popular - rankings, polls, selection committees, controversy, etc. If the ACC goes to 15 or 16, no one will follow unless the moves individually make sense for the conferences.

With that said, it could prove difficult for the B12 to remain at 10 schools if one of the other power conferences does make the move to 15 or 16. It will be too hard to overcome the perception that 15 or 16 is better than 10.

And, digital footprint will mean immensely more than geography.

I'm thinking ND might request Navy who probably isn't interested in the ACC. Cincy and UConn would make obvious choices at 16. WVU would too.[/i]
