MyBB Recent WAC WBB HC Hires
I saw this evening that UMKC named K-State assistant Jacie Hoyt as their newest WBB HC at some point in the last couple days. If my count is right, that makes the third WAC WBB HC hired from the assistant coaching ranks this off-season. GCU replaced Trent May with Oregon assistant Nicole Powell. NMSU welcomed Colorado St. assistant Brooke Atkinson back to LC after Mark Trakh left.

I'm not going to pretend to be a big WBB fan, but it's a little exciting to see the influx of young talent into WAC coaching ranks. I'm not sure what kind of impression Hoyt or Atkinson have made at UMKC and NMSU so far, but Powell has hit the ground running. From what I've seen in a short time, Coach Powell has the energy, pedigree, and backing to build GCU WBB into a program that mirrors the level of fan support & success of their MBB counterparts.

I'd love to see the same for UMKC & NMSU WBB, though the Lady Aggies have been the class of the conference for some time now. While MBB will always receive my primary attention, I am looking forward to catching a few more WBB conference contests next season, too.
