lol---Lord----what a trash bowl parade. FWIW--if Army doesn't qualify for a bowl, we pick up the Armed Forces Bowls vs Big 10. Other than that, this years post season (beyond the access bowl) is going to be very anti-climatic. Go 10-2 and get to play 6-6 S Alabama in Frisco. Only up side is we might actually sweep this line of crap provided we dont lose half a dozen coaches.

Really surprised with Birmingham being moved before Christmas. I know part of the ACC tie-in years for St. Pete is the game most be post Christmas.

Yup. When the ACC appears in the game it is post Christmas. When CUSA is the opponent, its generally pre-Christmas.

Both the MWC and AAC Bowl lineups are garbage. We need to partner with the Vegas Bowl to have a Champions Bowl for our best two teams. If one of our teams is in the NY6, the second place team plays in the game.

I'm ok with that unless we can land the Russell or Liberty.

To be honest, we need to win most of our bowls before we can expect to get upgrades. I know coaching changes hurt us in that dept every year, but outsiders don't see it that way.

The bowls only care about revenue generated. Everything else is secondary. That is the real problem the AAC has with bowls. We don't have enough teams with large fanbases. Definitely better than the g4, but we don't have that elite team or 2 that can be used in bowl negotiations.

I am no way in favor of a G5 playoff, as that idea is absurd.

However, it makes sense to have an agreement for a Champions Bowl, just like the SEC and Big 12 did. Aresco and Thompson need to work together to do this. The ACC, SEC, and Big 12 will never allow the AAC to play their better teams, just like the Pac 12 won't send a team that is 9-3 or 10-2 to the Vegas Bowl to play the MW Champion.

I'm ok with this agreement. Downside each conference fanbase is on the other side of the country so location is always an issue.

Sure. With that, if it is a team from the West, Vegas is an easy flight.

You know that feeling when you know something really sucks but then you see it in print and its actually way worse than you thought? Yeah.

Patience. The bowls, just like the TV deal, were negotiated when we were hanging together with a band aid, and didn't even have a conference name.

Keep achieving on the field, and the bowl situation will improve next round.

Lol at bowls mattering. Beyond the NY6 bowls they're almost all garbage. Top NFL prospects are even treating them as such. I cant blame them.

Bowls do matter. Each and every one. It's insulting to the fans who spend money and travel to them for a fun 3 day vacation to say bowls don't matter. We have to bring fans to every Bowl. The only P5 conferences that don't travel in great numbers to bowls are the PAC and ACC. The bowls will get better if they see a trend of AAC schools showing up in mass numbers. The PAC bowls are probably too far away but maybe the AAC could replace the ACC in a few regional bowls if our fans take this seriously.

New AAC-MWC Champions Bowl - rotates between Las Vegas and New Orleans (or you could do Vegas-Texas-Vegas-Florida). Post-Christmas.

New Orleans Bowl should stick with the Sun Belt. It works for them. They get great crowds.

Serious question for you, what would it take for BYU to join the MW or AAC?
