Most of the Cooper-Young crowd realizes that the NBA team means a ton to our culture

No, I don't go to Grizz games. I have lots of other responsibilities in my life, including a full-time job, grandchildren, ill relatives, and no one who wants to go to games downtown with me. But I love the Grizz. I don't know what the CY crowd realizes, but I know most of Memphis realizes the value of the Grizz.

I still want to take my Tiger purse into Tiger football games, okay? Somehow a gallon plastic bag doesn't seem quite as fashionable.

Arkansas football fans might soon be able to carry guns into Razorbacks games.

Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson on Wednesday signed into law HB1249, which allows concealed weapons into public buildings. That includes Reynolds Razorback Stadium and Bud Walton Arena, the school's basketball facility.

The first game will be a nightmare to get in when half the crowd is unaware of these new restrictions.

All the ladies, like myself, who have invested in cute Tiger purses and bags will not be happy.

Guys who like their cushion seats will not be happy.

Checking bags in the current condition never takes a very long time. If you want to avoid any line, go in thirty minutes before game time.

I am not sure whether this new policy is due to real security concerns, or the fact that alcohol sales aren't as good as the LB wishes. Of all the improvements the LB could make, THIS is not the thing to do.

It is incredibly common. I've been to NFL stadiums that use this policy. I've been to concert venues that do this. Hell, the amphitheater in Orange Beach, AL has this policy. It's not uncommon and people will adapt.

But, Memphis people will complain.

Apples and Oranges. We are not talking about NFL size crowds. If you're trying to build your produce the LAST thing you want to do is make it harder to get in and enjoy the game.

Some games there isn't much difference between our crowd and an NFL crowd. Ole Miss. Navy and others drew close to sell outs and we have close to 40k at other games. The size of the security detail corresponds to the size of the crowd. If you double our attendance, you should have double the security staff to handle that crowd. It sucks these changes are made but we are not isolated with these rules, they are widespread thru out various venues and leagues.

Do you go to the games or do you sit at home and think of reasons to criticize the security rules? Just curious

I really don't give a darn what NFL cities do. I live in Memphis and I don't like it. I LOVE my Tiger blue purses and bags. And don't even bring up that godforsaken state of Alabama.

Well, you can use those Tiger blue purses and bags 358 days a year. And, they make clear purses with a Tiger logo on them...I bought one for my wife last week.

We went to a Griz game last year... I don't recall my wife being turned away at the gate because she had her regular black leather purse AND her camera bag...
She's pissed - I posted the letter from the AOB on the refrigerator. Her statement in response to "people in Memphis will complain" a few posts up: "Yeah. I'm complaining. Doesn't mean I won't adapt. But I'm still gonna complain." She's a woman, you see....

ETA: FTR, I don't much care for it either. I hope it is offset by the fact that it will be appreciated because of all the sellouts!!!!

"she complains. she's a woman you see." O puhlease.

Sometimes, it's the female of the species who is schlepping around the illegals. And some females don't fancy the ideas of where they might be asked to carry them other than their purse.

Stuffing your own trousers or wearing belts that have suck tubes...is the way to go if y'all need booze to make the FB experience more fun.

All I remember is getting beer poured in my seat (for luck they said) at the LB omiss game.

Any way, I just went online and bought a nice seethru bag last night--amazon prime is awesome.

Go Tigers!

Are they limiting what you can put in the plastic bag? What if you stick your purse INSIDE of a clear plastic bag?

Seriously, I was thinking what about getting some camera bag padding and wrapping the camera in the padding and putting that in the clear tote? That's my wife's main gripe about it. She wants to continue bringing the camera, but doesn't want to hang it around her neck for 3 1/3 hours.

Hating on the LB, which still struggles with customer service on all levels. They are clueless.

I am just kicking myself that I did not set up a cottage industry selling plastic Tiger bags. Guess now I will have to go out and buy some bigger bras so I can get my "little bottles" in.
And BF will have to dig out his whiskey binoculars.

Actually, security is a joke because I used to have a purse with a false bottom that I carried an umbrella in. I took that purse everywhere. Feeling how heavy your purse is is not what I call a security check.

I didn't have any issues with my blue purse that I took into the Grizzlies game last season, either - it was searched thoroughly, but that's to be expected.

Any parent with a small child coming to FB games will have a big problem with this "policy."
