Curious on the story why he switched from BB to FB? Anyone have the back story on him?

Thoughts and prayers to his family.

Which led to a short career in the NFL ... The NFL liked his size and speed, he needed some experience.

Sad development. He always represented the university well, and 40 years old is way to young. A reminder to all those who tend to shy away from medical exams that you only have one heart, you cannot do enough to keep tabs on blood pressure, cholesterol, et. al once you hit 40. Particularly pay attention to your family history.

RE: Rodrick Monroe
That's a tough one, he was one of my brother's guides/hosts on his first official college visit for athletics back in Winter 1998. Was absolutely awesome to our family and one of the reasons why UC stayed on my radar when that whole process started for me a few years later.

That's way too young to go. Very sad. I remember a funny story I heard about him. Rod had some of those temporary cardboard tags on his car when he was here, and rather than get permanent plates he just keep changing the dates on it with a sharpie.

My condolences to his friends, family, and everyone who cared about him. That's just way too young. There used to be a user that posted here under the name RodrickMonroe (csnbbs.com/user-72874), any idea if that was him?
