If Sun Belt schools were Beer
It's Monday. It's the off-season. Let's discuss.
Pick a brand of beer to represent your school. Obviously some schools like Georgia Southern and App State have a brewery/beer brand specifically dedicated to their team so pick a mainstream beer other people can relate to.
I'll go ahead and give my best guess for each school. Tell me how close I got or what you would pick instead.
Coastal Carolina: A party school on the beach needs a good beach beer that you can drink all day - Landshark
Georgia Southern: You get a lot for your money and it's always a great tailgate party so you need a tailgate essential - Natty light
App State: Being the most northern school, y'all probably drink Yankee beer - PBR
Georgia State: In downtown ATL, they don't drink normal beer, they drink 40's. Pour one out for your homies - Colt 45
Troy: Like at GS, football is an all day event so you need a good tailgate beer that the pretty girls can shotgun - Bud light
South Alabama: Another beach school, another beach beer but Gulf of Mexico themed - Corona Light
Louisiana: Lots of spicy Cajun food means you need a beer that will cool down your palette between bites - Coors Light
Louisiana-Monroe: The pasttimes of Monroe are hunting, fishing, and drinking. You need a beer to get you drunk asap - Bud Light Platinum
Arkansas State: being the poster child of the SBC, you need to drink the poster child of beer - Budweiser
Texas State: You need something that goes well with some Tex-Mex and good for floating down a river. Stay thirsty my friends - Dos Equis

UTA and Little Rock are Bud Select 55 and Michelob Ultra. Watered down half beers since they don't have football.

I honestly tried to think of some beers for UTA and Little Rock but got stumped so I left them off the list. Thanks for helping out

No, Shiner has a good football program. We unfortunately don't. Yet.

So Troy is the lite version of Arkansas State and ULM is the platinum version of Troy.
I like your list.

Dos Equis ? While I love their commercials, I'm not a huge fan of their brew. It's alright .. . in a pinch.
And someone didn't want to give us Shiner Bock. . .
For TXST then, make it a Ziegen Bock ... .

That would mean ULM is the drunker version of Troy which I think would be pretty accurate.

Yep. Or at the very least, Budweiser: brewed with rice grown in Louisiana.

You sure about that? Let me run down the road to Busch Agri just outside of Jonesboro here and ask them.

Boone Saloon has been in the top 100 sellers of PBR, globally , for the past few years. If I recall correctly they were #36 in 2015.
Excellent choice.

I've always thought of PBR as more of a hipster beer than a country beer. Bud and Miller are the "country" ones in my mind, but that could just be because all the references to it (and Jack) by bro country singers.
Either way, I feel like PBR was in the keg at a majority of parties I went to in college, so it's pretty accurate.
Also, it's the best tasting of the cheap beers in my opinion, besides Yuengling.

It's throwback. Kind of like drinking Old Style in Chicago. Taste like crap, but when in Rome. BTW, when I was in Boone it seemed everyone drank Natty Light. My friend that works a Anheuser Busch once told me the #1 market for Natty Light was the state of NC. Ironic that TrueBlueDrew associates it with GS.
Anybody out there remember Big Al's in Boone late 90's? You could get a burger and a PBR for $1.50.
