RE: SECN NET WORTH DISCLOSED
The 5th most expensive sports TV network in America and 4 times more valuable than any competitor.

If ESPN could ever figure out a good way to go OTT with all of its content and still pull down the same cash then we'll be riding a gravy train from here to next century.

What has been so deceptive about "cord cutting" is that most of it is not. It's delivery system swapping. Sling, Hulu, and other streaming available to mobile devices aren't counted as subscriptions. I have to wonder what would happen to the revenue if we did take 4 schools break into 3 divisions of 6 and put each division on a separate channel in our package. Each would have the same conference news at the same time, but each could have just the coaches shows from their division, a game of the week for their division (offered at staggered times from the other two divisional channels) and divisional news. That way smaller companies that were regional could advertise on those channels and not feel lost in the shuffle on national advertising which is inefficient for them and doesn't reach their target audience. It may not be as flush as national advertising but it would be x 3. That boost alone could increase revenue by 15 -20%.

Those numbers bode well for the ACCN.
The SECN experience will be beneficial to the ACC and to ESPN.

RE: SECN NET WORTH DISCLOSED
AllTideUp noticed the Big 10 numbers for 2015 and 2016 were also given. However the math differential was not. Between 2015-2016 the Big 10 lost 448 million in revenue. Funny that the article would mention the SEC losing 70 million (actually 78 million, but not mention the 448 million lost by the Big 10 (1.59 billion to 1.142 billion).

The SEC's loss represents a difference of 1.66%. The Big 10's loss represents a loss of 39.2% (there's the story).

The SECN also launched on all sports streaming delivery systems. Those numbers are not accounted for in subscriptions and likely not in revenue. And talk about insignificance, the PAC network is only worth 305 million or .305 billion.

It's also the reason OU will be knocking on the door.

I stream the SECN on Playstation Vue now and I love it. If those numbers, along with Sling, etc. have not been added I doubt subscribers are being lost. The mass streaming era has begun. Streaming is to traditional subscriber service what vaping is doing to traditional tobacco usage.

I remember paying $50 to watch an Arkansas football game on ppv about a decade ago and absolutely hated the production quality as I've seen local high school games presented better than that. I absolutely love paying half that to watch almost all the the major college sports for half that. WPS. I'll watch this Network regardless of platform

Can only imagine the financial comparisons OU will be looking at in 5-7 years.
Imagine the SEC'sbump in pay ? too.

OU and its legion of fans are going to be pissed when Mizzou is making 7-10 million per season more than them. In the next couple of seasons we will start to see more programs start to angle for the last two remaining spots. I think it would be funny as hell to see the SEC openly make overtures to Kansas. Just to see the rest of them scramble. For so long OU and Texas have thought that they would be assured a spot in other conferences. But the SEC could take Iowa state and Kansas, and be fine without either of them.
