2018 C-USA Basketbal Tournament at the.......... Dallas Cowboys Practice Stadium?????
UTSA AD just mentioned here in Houston that there would be a sound proof wall down the middle, then on the second day, both men's and women's will play on the same court.

2018 C-USA Basketbal Tournament at the.......... Dallas Cowboys Practice Stad...
I was at the 1996 Olympics and saw basketball in one half of the Georgia Dome. There was not a bit of sound carryover between simultaneous events on both sides.

I'm excited about the venue for next year. I think it's a great choice!

I'm biased, though, it's about 30-35 minutes from my house.

And WKUYG is gonna love the new double decker 28 lane LBJ expressway.

RE: 2018 C-USA Basketbal Tournament at the.......... Dallas Cowboys Practice Stadium?????
Some of you and I assume the people trying to fix this problem have never been to a CUSA tourney....

350 to 800 fans make very little noise, it might be different if you have 5,000 to 10,000 screaming fans. That makes a huge difference in hearing other noises in the arena. I will bet a dinner (winners choice) that before the end of day 2 there will be some type of delay or stop play on one of the courts because of a action on the other. Unless that wall goes from floor to ceiling and side to side...not just one side of the floor to the other.

I don't know a thing about sound proof walls or anything like that...I'm just going by common sense and hearing many horns go off in a basketball game and how loud they are. So here someone's chance of getting a free meal if you are sure a sound proof wall is all it takes. I'm the type of person that will have to see it before I believe it. Hell I can be sitting in a back room at my home and hear a car horn blow, down the street. That's in a enclosed room with maybe 10 or 15 walls in between me and the car horn.

I guess a better way to look at it, if you are at a theater with side by side screens you really don't hear the one next to you. But if there's a huge gap at the ceiling the sound carries over into both sides. With the horn most likely in the beams of the ceiling I think it's going to cause a problem.

Most of you know...I'm hard headed and will debate my point of view, if I think I'm correct. So it has nothing to do with wanting this to fail. Hell, I love watching basketball with a ton of screaming fans and I hate it when it's so quiet you can hear the players talking. So no I'm not hoping for it to fail. I hope some of you are right and a ton of fans show up. If it's not close to a ocean and beach...Dallas is as good as any other place.

Ten hour drive, seven hour drive, 5 hour drive...makes little difference to me. I drive 50,000 mile a year watching WKU sports or going fishing or to a ocean. I just don't see how this will work. Maybe it will...I just don't see it. But this will be my last post...I don't know how many I have in this topic..... I know this is my last.

Hope it works...but, I will have to experience it to believe it will.

owl at the moon, if there's no cops itching to write a ticket. I will love it. The only time heavy traffic bothers me is if the white knuckle drivers hog the outside lanes...going the speed limit. The worse area for that in Texas is between Waco and Austin....pickup trucks hog the passing lane doing the speed limit. I believe that's why there's so many wrecks in that section. The parallel road that goes through there comes in handy. Locals will sit in traffic, not moving, for long periods of time. I Get off and take that older road that parallels the interstate till I get pass the bottle neck.

I don't know about YG but I hate the Dallas area double deckers. I very seldom drive them since I'm in Wisconsin but when I have been on them I was absolutely certain I was about to drive off into the wild blue yonder. Not for me.

Ok It's time for conference members that have been bashing Birmingham to step up and show us how it's done.

Outside of Charlotte, MTSU and WKU no one else stepped up in Birmingham and I'll bash UAB fans here as well. I was mostly disappointed with our own. You should show up no matter if your team wins or loses. I was also extremely disappointed with corporate support.

I will say the MTSU fans especially really stepped up and was impressed with Charlotte for showing up in spite of travel distance.

Lets make this event a success and find ways to attend instead of bitching about it shall we?

The thing about folks wanting it to be a "Disney" type of vacation with all sorts of "side" things to do........

In Birmingham, it was damn hard to do much other than "hoops" with both our men's and women's teams playing every day. We got to eat a dinner out and take the kid to the zoo and Science Center one day, but that was about it (and we were there for several days).

I thought ODU brought a respectable amount of fans.
