Thanks for this list - it's cool to view all together. I know these are tourney champs, but I'll give a shout out to Miami's volleyball team that won the MAC regular season with a 15-1 record followed up by an at large NCAA tourney bid.

Sorry - Kent State's Rob Senderhoff put it this way a while ago - he pointed at the trophy KSU got in 2015 - "here's what we got for winning the MAC East", then he pointed at the trophy KSU earned in Cleveland in 2008, before he was head coach. "This is the big trophy - we want to win another one of these"

I know they give trophies for the finishing first in each division, I think in 2015, 3 teams got those. I didn't know that they give another one for finishing overall first in the regular season. But I do know there's only one big trophy and the confetti only comes down once, and those are listed here.

If anyone else wants to list all the division winners, feel free. I was thinking about listing all the individual champions, for example the weight classes in wrestling, and each of the events in gymnastics and track and field, but haven't had the time yet

The nature of college sports has made it so the tourney champ is almost all that matters, particularly in sports that advance that winner to the NCAA. KSU tied for the conference championship in 2015 with UB and CMU, but who cares? Buffalo was THE champ that year. Who would trade a MAC tourney championship for a regular season championship? No one.

You'd think the MAC home office would have all this historical information in an easy to digest format on their website. But nope.

Seems like a perfect intern project.

Since, you noted some streaks, the Zips' men's indoor track title was the fourth straight. Anyway, thanks for doing this. I put something like this together last year (though can't remember if I updated after the spring).

It would be nice if the MAC kept a database that showed all-time titles.

BTW, I did create a spreadsheet a couple of years ago that went back to 98-99 (or whenever Buffalo joined the league). Took a ton of time, but the computer I had it on crapped out on me and I lost it.

I wish I could remember the exact order, but I know Kent and Akron were neck and neck for the most overall titles (I want to say they were within one title of each other and don't remember who was No. 1), with EMU being a relatively close third. Can't remember the rest, though I think either WMU or CMU was fourth ... maybe they were four and five. ... I think Ohio and NIU were at the bottom (or both near the bottom), which surprised me.
