RE: Lost Production by Team
Before the last renovation and fire door access upgrades, the Pan American Center use to be listed at 13,222. After the fire door upgrade it dropped to 13,071. And, with the last renovations in 2005, it is now listed at 12,482.
Back in the day, the 1990's, when NMSU's concourse was open viewing to the court, NMSU had a maximum attendance against UNM of 14,845; standing room only. The fire marshal was not happy.
Now, with the concourse moved under the stands there is not much court viewing for "stand room". That 14,845 maximum attendance will never be broken at NMSU. Frankly, I like the pre-renovation PAC better. Not enough money, time, and thought was put into the upgrades.

One thing to add to attendance, that UVU number seems a bit inflated as well. When we played them there the place was absolutely empty, looked abandoned. You would expect a better turnout for one of the best teams in the conference.

I'm not sure how close we are to that, though. Downtown Bakersfield has rebounded in the last 10-15 years (after years of suburban flight) and has some nice restaurants for pregame meals now.
Regarding Icardo/campus, there is a new Hyatt hotel being built very near the campus' Stockdale entrance, so that's nice for visitors.
Currently mobile....away from the house or on "the throne."
I would think we are pretty close but I think the administration wants to stay on campus. Barnes even talked to Ziggy about renovating the Icardo again. I really think they like the Icardo a lot and want to stay on campus for the foreseeable future. Hopefully they will get some renovations going soon, if Barnes wants it he will probably get it. Gotta get the man what he wants to convince him to stay long term.

Yep. Its mind boggling that Dollar never could capitalize on all the local talent. Luckily Hayford is bringing in 3 stars so the trend looks like itll change in coming years

If Hayford wins, SU's rep in the Seattle area will become a positive one.

I think it was smart for Seattle to get a coach who has had regional success. I think he is already firmly locked into Northwest recruiting. I think Seattle will quickly step up to being a conference contender.
