Basketball Florida Game
I was kind of half listening to Lance on the way home today. I thought I heard him talk to someone (maybe Chad Brendel?) mention we are working on a deal with Gators in a neutral court location. Anybody else hear this?

That would be awesome. Did not hear that as I try to avoid listening to that Ray Watts

I heard this too. One neutral court game is what the two programs are working on. They are in the "contract phase" of the negotiation, per Brendel.

UC working the PAC 12 and SEC for basketball matchups. Nice. Hope they start working on that for football.

Deal is in the works. Would be at the Prudential Center in Jersey in an event honoring 9/11. Thanks for listening...

RE: Basketball Florida Game
Florida is another projected Top 10 team next year. Dare I say this schedule is getting "tough" now with up to 7 Top 15ish type games.

Florida (Neutral)
UCLA (away)
Xavier (away)
SMU (home /away)
Wichita (home/away)

pending of course if the AAC will screw us with one match up each of WSU/SMU

Interesting. Seems to me that CBS values the Bearcats. 1/3 of our football games and 1/3 of our basketball games were on CBS Sports (+1 more on CBS) last year. I imagine we must be getting decent ratings for them to get this deal.

Glad to hear that we are playing Florida, but I hate the neutral court BS. Just play home and home. Good practice for post season I suppose but I just like true home and road games.

UC has successfully recruited the Metro New York City area in recent years (Rashad Bishop, Kilpatrick, Quadri Moore, Jermaine Lawrence, Lance Stephenson), so this game allows us to get back there and showcase our new NYC-area recruit, Keith Williams. And there are probably other guys in that area that we are recruiting for the class of 2019.

Yeah, and I wouldn't take it as a slight to Cincinnati. Pretty much all the big-name programs do these neutral court events. I would imagine the television networks that broadcast them put them together.

That's a good point about recruiting. I just think the neutral court stuff ruins the atmosphere. Hell as long as it's not in an aircraft carrier I'm happy.

Agree about the aircraft carrier. Although I must say, it's much better than playing basketball on an aircraft. C-5A might fit a court though...

Cincinnati vs Florida headline 2017 Never Forget Games

Cincinnati will play Florida and Seton Hall will face VCU in the second annual Never Forget Games, multiple sources told FanRag Sports.

The doubleheader will take place at the Prudential Center in Newark on Saturday Dec. 9th, 2017.

Official tip off times are yet to be determined.

Cincinnati and Florida are ranked 11th and 12th, respectively, in the FanRag Sports Top 25 while Seton Hall is ranked 18th. VCU is entering its first season under Mike Rhoades, who was an assistant when the Rams reached the Final Four in 2011.

I believe UC ratings are usually very good and part of the reason ESPN wanted to keep us out of the Big 12. I bet they make more money selling our games to other networks then they have to pay for us. We bring good ratings when we are on ESPN and are a popular buy from the other networks.

That is part of the reason I still think long-term, if this P5 thing blows up, that we would land somewhere good, or at least decent. We bring too much to the table for the networks to see us into oblivion. ESPN did what was best for them with the Big 12 screw job. But when the walls come crashing down on this P5/G5 stuff and the pay days for all drop, I can see a life boat for UC as we are a proven commodity that draws viewers and makes them money.
