RE: Corey to the Titans
I noticed Fleck there as well. At first it irritated me. But then I realized that probably all the highly regarded athletes had their college coaches there with them. And Fleck must have been partly responsible for Corey deciding to come back for his senior year at WMU. And wasn't that a great decision by Corey?! A great lesson in patience paying off. Yes, there were some very young and inexperienced athletes chosen in the first round. But let's see what their status is in a couple of years, while Corey sets NFL records! GO BRONCOS!

Is Davis the highest drafted MAC player in NFL history?

CMU OL Eric Fisher, went #1 overall a few years back. Davis next highest at #5 with Khalil Mack.

Erik Fisher from Central went #1 overall a few years ago. Corey Davis ties Khalil Mack from Buffalo (also at #5) for 2nd highest

RE: Corey to the Titans
Just wanted to add that I really appreciate the fact that our #5 draft pick is of such high character. There were more than a few of those first round draft picks who had legal and drug issues. (Example - the guy who had been expelled from 5 schools.) While I understand that talent is the big draw, how can those players with questionable character be expected to become team players? After all, their background issues are the result of putting themselves first.

Yeah, I think Davis being like how he is as a person + a polished senior being able to play on Day 1 was a key factor in him being the #1 WR pick vs the other 2 stars.

I think its a great expose on exposure but its also a bit of an exercise in how to bend numbers to fit a narrative... No argue that WMU got a huge plug on NFL network and ESPN during the draft... but $15 million dollars worth? Who comes up with that?

BTW - anyone see the tweet from PJ this week giving Corey props... and including the phrase RTB and Sik U Mah? Seriously PJ? Are you seriously trying to use Corey in an effort to prop up Minnesota?

PJ uses anything and everything to prop up his program and sell what he has. Honestly, that is one of the reasons he is successful. He is tireless with the promotion. He did the same at WMU, and was criticized even by Bronco supporters for going overboard; until folks realized that what he does attracts recruits, does get people excited about the program, and leads to wins.

Agreed. He was at the draft w/ Corey because Corey wanted him there and he's a huge part of Corey's success. I have no issue w/ it.

RE: Corey to the Titans
Hope Corey isn't walking into a situation where team chemistry will already need repair.

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/titans...aft-night/

Quote:According to Satterfield, Sharpe became irate when the Titans decided to use their first-round pick on receiver Corey Davis out of Western Michigan.

After the pick was made, Satterfield allegedly made some comments that upset Sharpe. According to the lawsuit, Sharpe, and Titans teammate Sebastian Tretola, asked Satterfield to meet them outside the back door of the bar.

Satterfield eventually made his way out into the alley, which is where the alleged assault took place.

(later in the article, it says Sharpe claimed to have no involvement at all)
