Fwiw, Scout has Miami at 46, best in the MAC and even better than West Virginia and Iowa. Too early to say, but our bowl season and facilities investments are really paying off.

+1...I remember last year when WMU made a big deal about its class being ranked in the top 25 very early in the recruiting season...and look what happened in the end. Toledo only has 3 verbals right now so ranking UT means absolutely nothing, but 'tis the offseason!

In this era of recruiting, the middle to lower tier P5 schools don't start accepting recruits until later in the process. Many utilize the early G5 schools as a scouting service to identify talent they can swope in and pluck later before signing day.

It is difficult to manage in this day and age, but some G5 coaches have resorted to keeping a few commits silent until the last possible second to avoid this very thing.
