RE: The Championship Building Plan Thread
We have the worst football facilities in the MAC so if our recruiting classes remain average to below average this will be a main contributor. I would bet Creighton leaves at the first chance he gets because the school is telling him we don't want to have great Football if the TCBP is not moved forward. Hopefully this doesn't hurt our avg recruiting class this year.

Guys, I'm not certain this is that event was the venue where they'd make an announcement.
The sky isn't falling.

As for the 'worst football facilities in the MAC,' doesn't Buffalo lack an indoor practice facility?

Also, a recruit and player isn’t only coming for facilities. They come for the coach/coaches.

Coaches are biggest factor but facilities also play a role in the decision... let's not kid ourselves.

No we don't....but if EMU wants to play with the middle size boys, we need to find a way.

Dear Friends,
Why all of a sudden is there such negativity about the new athletic facility? If, private donations are around ten million, Eastern is going to throw that money away? There are other ways to finance the project to completion. I mentioned to everyone that ground breaking was going to begin after the new year. Let's have some faith in the process.

I'm fairly certain we'll see some bond financing to make the the deficit between whatever the final fundraising total is and the total bill for construction.
If I remember correctly, West Bloomfield School District just took out a $100 million dollar bond for capital improvements. We would only need to take a fraction of that. It's totally doable.

Agree.
No reason to worry or panic unless someone has SPECIFIC information to cause them concern.

I thought CC stated we were breaking ground after the last game. I hope we move forward with this project!

Luckey, project timelines for buildings of ALL sorts (public or private) are not like holidays on a calendar, they are not set in stone.
It could have been last week, this week, before Christmas, early next year...

EMU keeping this under wraps like a national security secret, haha. Hopefully it becomes much more clear, and public, after that Dec. 15th Regents meeting.

I have no inside information, but that would be my guess.
I don't know if there is any formal vote which is required by the regents over the project, funding sources (e.g., bonds), etc.

RE: The Championship Building Plan Thread
This is part of a (survey) mailing from EMU regarding football game day experience:
"We Heard Your Voice, and We Want to Hear From You Again!
At the end of the 2016 football season, EMU Athletics conducted its first ever football fan research study. After receiving over 1,000 responses, the athletic department received valuable insight about what fans expect on football game days. We heard you, and from your feedback, the following changes took place for the 2017 season:
Better ticket sales package flexibility and benefits
Customer service training for our entire game day staff
Bathroom renovations and upgrades
New stadium lights and better visibility on the concourse
New way-finding and stadium signage throughout Rynearson Stadium
Additional concessions options inside of Rynearson Stadium"
