Wow. That gives the SEC 31 games against C-USA, Sunbelt and FCS teams. They need to get more MAC teams in there so their OOC schedules aren't so daunting. They need to think about their reputation as the strongest football conference.

The SEC plays 31 of their 56 OOC games vs FCS (14) vs Sun Belt (10) and vs CUSA (7). All but 3 of those 31 games are home games.

RE: Conference challenges football 2017
Power 5 games for each SEC team:
Alabama: FSU (neutral) (Alabama went 14-1 last year)
Auburn: at Clemson (8-5)
LSU: Syracuse, BYU (8-4)
Mississippi: at Cal (5-7)
Mississippi State: BYU (6-7)
Texas A&M: at UCLA (8-5)
Arkansas: TCU (7-6)

TN: Georgia Tech (neutral) (9-4)
Georgia: at ND, at Georgia Tech (8-5)
Florida: Michigan (neutral), Florida State (9-4)
Kentucky: Louisville (7-6)
Vanderbilt: Kansas State (6-7)
South Carolina: NC State (neutral), Clemson (6-7)
Missouri: Purdue (4-8)

If you count ND as ACC:
ACC: 10
Big 10: 2
Big 12: 2
PAC: 2
BYU: 2

And Miss St is the only school that plays just BYU. I might give them a pass since they were 6-7 last year and will have to work to get bowl eligible.

I might critique a school like Alabama for only scheduling FSU and that at a neutal site, by FSU is a solid matchup.

Florida scheduled tough by taking on Michigan even though they already play FSU.

The SEC as a 14 team league and an 8 game schedule has more overall OOC games than say the PAC at a 12 team league with a 9 game schedule or the Big 12 with 10 teams and a 9 game schedule. I would certainly make the case the SEC needs a 9 game schedule, but how is their schedule much different from the Big 12:

OK: at Ohio State
OK State: at Pitt
Texas: Maryland
Texas Tech: Arizona St.
Baylor: at Duke
TCU: at Arkansas
Kansas State: at Vanderbilt
Kansas: N/A
Iowa State: Iowa
West Virginia: Virginia Tech

So do I. I can't wait until the wonderful day that the SEC hits the road and plays games like:
Arkansas at Arkansas St
South Carolina at Coastal Carolina
Georgia at Georgia St
LSU at Louisiana Monroe
Alabama at South Alabama
Bawhahaha!!!

Kansas doesn't play a P5 team this year? The good news for them is they play Houston soon. Houston is a P6 team. Does the SEC make exceptions for the 12 P6 schools?

Careful with counting BYU as P5 on this board. I do different conference vs conference threads every year, and I've gotten ripped for counting BYU. BYU only counts if you beat them and the schools/conference you don't like lose to them I've discovered. If the MWC/MAC/CUSA does well against BYU this year for example, you'll be told by multiple AAC posters to take them off the P5 list. With that said, ECU plays BYU this season and I will count BYU as a P5 win for ECU if it happens to go our way.

Yep. Except last year, the SEC East schools didnt play 5 schools that would've beaten up on them. Some of those SEC East schools played 2 tough games last season, 6 easy SEC East games, and 4 easy OOC games.

I would not say 4 easy OOC as South Carolina plays Clemson, Georgia plays Georgia Tech, Kentucky plays Louisville, and Florida plays Florida State. Tennessee and Vanderbilt just do not have the ACC teams to play. While Missouri just doesn't count because they are in the east for no reason what so ever.

A school like ECU I think would have done more for the SEC and have done more with being in the SEC than Missouri has. ECU would have been cultural home run (Missouri not so much), ECU basketball would improve, and the school would have exploded in enrollment and academically. ECU would also have brought in the market for Raleigh, Charlotte, Tidewater VA, and DC, which the SEC wants a lot. Plus would have been easy traveling games for South Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida fans while Missouri not so much. We would also would have a natural ACC-SEC rivalry for Thanksgiving and for ESPN with ECU vs. NC State and we could have created a yearly neutral site game in Charlotte vs. Tennessee every year. Like UGA-UF in Jacksonville and Arkansas vs.. A&M in Dallas. Missouri did not bring any of that. They be long in the Big Ten not the SEC.

SEC East
1 Kentucky
2 West Virginia
3 Tennessee
4 Vanderbilt
5 E. Carolina
6 South Carolina
7 Georgia
8 Florida

SEC West
1 Alabama
2 Auburn
3 Ole Miss
4 Mississippi State
5 LSU
6 Arkansas
7 Texas A&M

If the Big 10 invites OU, I hope they bring Mizzou with them. Mizzou would rather be in the Big 10 anyway. Then the SEC will be down to 13. Invite ECU to the SEC East.

SEC East: Kentucky, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, ECU, SC, Georgia, Florida
SEC West: AtM, Arkansas, LSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi St, Auburn, Bama

I did try. I threw in the MWC vs BYU thing as a joke and I passed on conference challenges that played only a couple of games this year.
For example: MWC vs CUSA: 0 games played.
PAC vs ACC isn't anything unless you count ND for the USC/Stanford games. What conference challenges did you want me to include? I'm guessing ACC vs ND?
