UofD vs UofM
Oakland vs MSU

Too bad EMU wasn't able to get in on the action here.

Yes, it is a shame. But we know Michigan would never take the chance to play us on a neutral court. 03-lmfao

Dear Friends,
I don't know if U-M had anything to do with the scheduling, but they have the weaker of the two out of conference teams.

RE: Little Caesars Arena will Open with College Hoops
This is very simple and easy to understand on several levels.

MSU and Oakland have an established relationship which has gone on for years.

UofM and UDM have 'familial' ties between the current coaches of the two school. UDM has coaches who coached under Beilen at UofM.

So those two games make perfect sense.

And, of course, UofM has been ducking EMU. It makes sense for them to play a mediocre UDM team with a head coach and player with UofM connections (player is Kameron Chatman) than take a chance of losing to EMU. The only thing EMU and UofM share is Washtenaw County.

It would be nice if the MAC could schedule a conference doubleheader but I doubt it would draw enough to pay the bills.

E.g., EMU could host one game while maybe Toledo could host the other.

I wish they would do some kind of event that had all 7 state of Michigan D1 teams (and maybe Toledo or BG) playing each other. Like an entire Saturday of games at LCA.

EMU vs. Oakland
CMU vs. MSU
WMU vs. UofM
Toledo/BG vs. UofD

I would totally be in attendance for an event like that.

A tournament would be even better. Buffalo and Philadelphia have annual tournaments with the city's schools. It would be awesome to have a weekend tournament at LCA.

I agree.

It would be nice if Oakland, UDM, plus one more Horizon League team.

They could face off vs. EMU, (CMU or WMU), and Toledo.

Three games starting at 1:00 p.m.

Each school buys 2,000 tickets.

A MAC vs Horizon League showcase could be doable.
UofD
Oakland
North Kentucky
UIC
Valpo
and few other teams aren't that far....

Valpo would be a good team with a good brand name and would be ideal with UDM and Oakland.

And I think the teams would love if local h.s. teams could watch the games. I don't know how that would work and any NCAA issues.
