Please stop talking smack about a kid. He's going to contribute on this team next year. He might not start but he's going to prove depth if we run like Tubby claims.
He had an offer from NM, and this late in the year it's good to pick up any big. We could of used a guy like him last year. If fact, we missed on Ngor Barnaba who started over him his freshman year at Missouri State-West Plains.
I know he's going to average 4 and 2, in 14 minutes next year. But that's going to help.

If the stats are correct, it would help.
First he averaged 9 in HS, which was wrong, then he never started a game in JuCo, which was also wrong. Next he's gonna have a hook for a hand and two club feet.
Hawthorne, their leading rebounder, signed with MTSU.
Sikes, their leading scorer and 2nd leading rebounder, signed with South Alabama.
Their 3rd leading rebounder has been offered by Nichols State.
Their 11 and 5 guy (2nd leading scorer, 4th leading rebounder), Emanuel Thompson, signed with Morehead State.
Their 9 and 4 guy (3rd leading scorer and 6th leading rebounder), Mike Parks, signed with the University of Memphis.
No one is saying the guy has to come in and lead the team in scoring.
I don't know anything about those other guys and don't really care. I will wager that Mike Parks Jr's production exceeds Chad Rykhoek's by a wide margin.
I realize that aint saying much, but that's all we're looking for here.
o no...I can't go that low...I'm not gonna use Chad to set the bar for my expectations.

Preseason predictions had the Tigers finishing fifth in the conference this year.
They did finish fifth. That met expectations.
Honestly, there weren't enough returning players to make the postseason this year.
Next year could go either way. Could make the NIT or could stay home again.
But based on who they're already recruiting for next year's recruiting class, I get the feeling we're going back to the big dance soon.

MTSU, the best team in the State for the past three years, continues to solidify its talent. They signed Nick King also, but he is not good enough for Memphis per Tubby.

It seems to me everyone can draw his own expectations from just the reality of what is happening.
I don't think we should get to the point where we fear to post the relevant stats on a new recruit. We've always done that.
Posting where he stood in relation to his teammates is relevant.

None of this means crap. What will be relevant is when the season starts and you see the players play and see if their abilities equal WINS. The idea of proclaiming these players suck and yet you have never seen them play is dumb. At least wait to see them play about 5 to 10 games. It's the prudent thing to do.

Everyone complaining about Tubby's recruiting last year would have been happy to have all these 6'7", 6'8", 6'9" guys coming in -- or at least, that's what they said then.
Right, that's when we were building around the core of Dedric, KJ and Markel. We are now building around a core of Martin, Rivers and Azab...

He has a tendency to foul (which may be related to fatigue, bad footwork, bad judgement, slowness, etc). He had three or more fouls in 56% of games played. It is a high rate of fouls per minute played.

He could be a good role player next year. As people said all last year - we had the scholly to give. My expectations are not the next Dorsey or Massie. I expect he'll be limited this year, and maybe next year can be a solid rotation guy. But what I KNOW is we needed size and he provides it. I also KNOW the staff has evaluated at least 3 centers in the past week, and they chose this guy to offer.
Welcome aboard.

The speed and physicality of D-1 is much greater than JUCO. He will be a foul magnet.
