RE: Orlando Sentinel Countdown
Unless Toledo is ranked between 16 and 22 positions higher than WKU, C-USA will finish third in G5 average with the MAC in fourth.

And sorry to disappoint AAC fans, but there is no "tweener" conference.

All of the P5 conferences will likely finish with ranking averages no worse than the low 50s. The AAC's current projected average of 72.75 requires all five remaining teams to have an average ranking of 30, and that isn't likely to happen. To finish with an average ranking better than 75, the five AAC teams have to average better than 35.4 and even that will be a tall order.

Very likely to see final averages close to these ranges with the AAC average possibly closer to the Sun Belt's 101 than to any P5 conference average.

SEC 25-32
Pac 12 31-37
Big Ten 41-46
Big 12 44-50
ACC 50-54
---------
AAC 75-79 (average of remaining teams 35.4-45)
MWC 86-89 (average of SDSU and WYO 33-51)
C-USA 90.5-91.5 (WKU 40-54)
MAC 92.0-93.0 (Toledo 39-51)
Sun Belt 101

UCF finished 6-5 last season after going 0-12 in 2015. It's seems unthinkable that the Golden Showers....err, I mean the "Golden Knights" would be ranked this high.

I think you mean 6-6 last season.

I've got them going 7-5 (4-4) this season.

Wins over Maine, FIU, and GTech OOC.
Wins over Cincy, ECU, SMU, and UConn in AAC play
Ls to Maryland, Memphis, Navy, Temple, and USF

Swap Maryland for GT, and SMU for Temple, and that's my expectation. We'll be improved but our schedule is harder this year I think.

AGGIE, MY PICKS

1. Which conference will be the first to have all teams selected? MAC Opps . Sun Belt
I agree I think the MAC will have both Miami (Ohio),PICKED # 69 & Toledo before any other G5 conference is filled in.
ONLY ONE TO GO

2. Which conference will be the last to have all teams selected? ACC ...AAC ?
Yep....I agree AAC, I thing USF and Houston will be the last TWO (2) selected from the five conferences I think NAVY will need to have a good replacement for their QB they lost to have a great year..

3. Which team will be next to be selected? UCF
Maybe Tulsa PICKED #67 , they need a QB just like ODU. It might be us.... IMO I think UCF will be really good this year. Last year they only lost to Temple by a point and almost beat Houston They had a fantastic recruiting class for 2017, the #1 class in the AAC. They picked up one of the top freshman running backs in the country with another RB that was a 4 star. The also snagged a local QB from Norview Darriel Mack out of Norfolk. He had an outstanding Sr. year. He may red shirt. The 2017 class had 20 3 stars and a 4 star gave them a monster recruiting class.. BINGO

4 Which team will be last to be selected? Navy
USF AAC - They are returning almost every one from last years team that went 10 -3. Their only defeat in the AAC was to Temple. They also were very competitive against Florida St..

5. What will be the G5 order of the average ranks after all are selected?
AAC, C-USA, Mountain West, MAC, Sun Belt Confirmed as the cellar dwellers
Perfect.... AAC, Mountain West, C-USA, MAC..................SBC Confirmed .

6. Does anybody care? Not really.
LOL, Care maybe not, but enjoy the off season chatter...YES. Thanks for all the work AGGIE..

Considering how close the Armed Forces Bowl was in December, no surprise that Navy immediately follows Louisiana Tech in the rankings.

And it confirms what I warned AAC fans about yesterday.

I think its strange the only guy who has not given us much respect in the preseason is Phil Steele and he has us ranked 39th this season....My jaw dropped to the floor when I saw that...He has the best preseason magazine by far, I just hope he is not too late to the party, have no idea why in the past he has not ranked us high as he had us in the 60's last two seasons and prior to that the 70s...

Not surprising there is an AAC bias with the hometown paper, dont blame them cant upset the locals. But considering that CUSA bowls teams have owned the AAC, I wouldnt put much stock in this poll. Definitely no separation on the field of play.

Yep....I agree AAC, I thing USF and Houston will be the last TWO (2) selected from the five conferences I think NAVY #59 will need to have a good replacement for their QB they lost to have a great year..

3. Which team will be next to be selected? UCF
Maybe Tulsa PICKED #67 , they need a QB just like ODU #64.

They also were very competitive against Florida St.
.

And it confirms what I warned AAC fans about yesterday.

Confirms what? That there is clear separation between the other 4 conferences? We didn't need a random newspaper outlet to rank the AAC the way it did to confirm that.

Not surprising there is an AAC bias with the hometown paper, dont blame them cant upset the locals.

Murschell is a Gator and P5 homer. He hates UCF and the G4+1

But considering that CUSA bowls teams have owned the AAC, I wouldnt put much stock in this poll. Definitely no separation on the field of play.

Lol, even when you talk smack, you have to put a modifier on it. Last year you were harping about CUSA having 1 more draft pick as proof of your superiority (what was the difference this year?) and now you have to hang your hat on bowl record, overall record be damned. I wonder what it will be next year? Total wins when playing on Tuesdays?

Prove it on the field. The best AAC teams get crushed in bowl games against the top teams in the G5 and you want respect?

LMAO wtf are you talking about? Prove it on the field? The AAC is 54-35 against the G4 since 2013. 24-17 against C-USA. Including bowl wins and terrible seasons when Tulsa and Tulane were in your conference. It's been utter dominance if you take away the charity stats given to you.

and an average victory in bowls of 10 points is crushing? I guess any victory in your super bowl game should be considering a "crushing victory".

Get over yourself, the only way you can claim superiority is to be limitations and restrictions on your conditions. When looking at ALL the evidence, there's no comparison at all. By you, me, or the common consensus.

Kruciff, why do you keep comparing your league to other leagues you are trying to separate yourself from? Don't you realize you are doing the opposite of what your brand is trying to do? Shouldn't you be comparing the American to the other Power schools? How do those records look?
