That's a pretty damn fundamental thing to take out, no?

I mean take the sex out of rape laws and it's no different than jay walking.

Hey what you say is true. Those are other options. But I believe that women still have the right to choose whether we agree with it or not.

What if a woman who is very career oriented and doesn't want a child is raped? She wasn't being irresponsible or banging dudes out of wedlock. Should she be forced to keep the child? Sure she can give it up to adoption. That's her choice or she can have an abortion. That's also her choice.

As far as asking the father. There are a lot of dead beat dad's in this world who don't want the kids that they have now. Unless he is a good man who wants to be there for his kid then yes by all means talk to the Father . It should be his choice as well.

Rape is the only instance it should be allowed imho. Again, the child gets no choice today. I view abortion as our #1 moral issue. It's origins are in degeneracy. Its conclusion is the ultimate selfish act.

If my views sound hardline it's because they are. I've lived it. It's not cool being the "powerless" man on the other side after it happens. I would have taken care of the kid myself if I had to. I regret a lot from that relationship but that's by far the #1 but I should have lived out what I believed in my heart.

I'll just say this about being pro-choice from my perspective.

Quote:If legalized abortion was reversed, we would revert back to back alley surgeons and too many newborns that would be mishandled, abused, abandoned, etc....

You don't make something legal simply because "people would do it illegally". That is a logically absurd position.

Quote:en macro, I can't let my personal opinion thinking it's morally wrong mask the eventual overwhelming negatives that would most certainly occur if roe v. wade was overturned....

Abortion was legal in many states before Roe.... Many people are under the assumption that if Roe was overturned then abortion would be illegal, that is simply not true.

But please weight "the overwhelming negatives" against the nearly 60 million babies killed since roe was passed. That is *ten* times the number of Jews who died in the holocaust.

Quote:as an argument, it's an unwinnable scenario as humans exist today....

I disagree.

Quote:take out human life and substitute prohibition and they become the same argument....today, the same applies to marijuana....

Because, as I said.... you take the main issue our of this. If it's not human life than I don't give a fat rats behind what you do to your body, including taking drugs.

Quote:think about how many lives have been ruined/lost due to marijuana being illegal since Nixon created his moral war on drugs (mostly against marijuana)....w/o looking it up, I'm betting it's comparable to aborted embryos during the same time frame....

IDK whether to point out that two wrongs don't make a right or point out that you're comparing apples and oranges.

There were an estimated 200K "back alley abortions" (really performed in homes and medical offices) per year in the US. About 5,000 deaths per year from those procedures.

There are 3-4 times that many in the US....

Compating the two..

6-800K aborted babies per year under roe
200K aborted babies per year before (and 5K accidental deaths)

It's not clearly a better situation now, is is?

Quote:I'd also bet that abortion rates went up dramatically once that dipshite began that pointless war....I'd also bet they're down now as marijuana becomes decriminalized....

So MJ is the reason abortions are down... something something correlation something something causation.

I read through it....but I have to fly now....I'll get back to you....

I knew it was a reach when I hit "enter"....as a simple caveat, I just found the timeline interesting on a huge increase relative to roe v. wade coupled with escalating the war on drugs to unparalleled levels....

I'm not sure how people make exceptions for rape and incest. If your logical argument is that it is a baby...an innocent human life...then how do you make exceptions for killing it?

I understand why the exceptions is made, because it is the most unpleasant point to defend on the pro-life side. Forcing a woman to carry the child of her rapist is a hard position to defend. So you make exceptions even though it goes completely against your fundamental argument.

I find it humorous that the part that claims to be the one for tolerance is also the one that is quick to say that if you don't believe what they want you to believe, they will not support you at all. So much for the whole tolerance thing.

If you own your own business there's probably a certain point in your career (age) where the award outweighs the risk. I'm surprised more people don't pay tbh.

Yea you can choose not to pay taxes. I wouldn't recommend it but it is your choice.

So if I dont want to support deadbeats, I dont get the same rights as a mother?

If you're going to say that I dont have to pay taxes, which isnt true, I can throw back in your face that the mother can give the baby up for adoption, which is true.

I just want the same rights not to have to support someone I dont want to support. Its my body. My body has to work to support the deadbeats. My body, my choice.

Right?

Well if you can get pregnant they maybe you can. I'm not saying it's right all I'm saying is l think it should be there choice. They are ones that are going to have to live with it.

To live with it? I'm having to support a bunch of deadbeats with my tax dollars now. Can I be pro choice about them? Its my dollars, my choice. Right?

Yea you can choose not to pay taxes. I wouldn't recommend it but it is your choice.

So if I dont want to support deadbeats, I dont get the same rights as a mother?

If you're going to say that I dont have to pay taxes, which isnt true, I can throw back in your face that the mother can give the baby up for adoption, which is true.

I just want the same rights not to have to support someone I dont want to support. Its my body. My body has to work to support the deadbeats. My body, my choice.

Right?

I'm going to assume its a slow morning for you since you are trying to change my words around. I said you can choose to not pay your taxes. Thats totally different than you don't have to. And I never said that the mother couldn't give the baby up for adoption. What I am saying is a woman should be able to choose abortion or not. If you choose not to support deadbeats then thats your choice. Like I said, I wouldn't recommend not paying your taxes but thats your choice.

I completely agree, and it's why I don't make those exceptions. As heart wrenching as it is to say so, I find myself saying "Is a 4 year old child of rape more human than a 4yo child of a loving marriage?"

Quote:I understand why the exceptions is made, because it is the most unpleasant point to defend on the pro-life side. Forcing a woman to carry the child of her rapist is a hard position to defend. So you make exceptions even though it goes completely against your fundamental argument.

And, the converse.... It's hard to defend all abortion on demand so the "pro choice" crowd uses the edge cases of rape and incest.

Just so we are clear, you think everybody should be pro abortion?

People can think what they want but yes, I wish everyone was pro-choice.
