Political calculus is having Democrats scripting the F word to sound more "authentic."
Maybe it plays to their base, but I suspect it significantly lowers their ability to penetrate Republicans. Its a turnoff to suburban Republicans, especially women. It is offensive to the religious.
When Hillary used the F word and G-D in that first debate with Sanders, there were 3 possibilities in my mind:
1) She was out of control. Very bad sign for someone who wants to run the country.
2) She did it deliberately to show she was "tough and sincere." Very bad on two levels. One that it is calculated, meaning its a manipulative lie. On the second level, either she was oblivious to the fact that she was offending a lot of people or she didn't care.
I'm not a fundamentalist but I was deeply offended. Had it been an private moment that accidentally got caught, it would have been one thing, but this was a prime time television debate.
Democrats seem to be adopting Hillary's approach.
