One side of the 'end zones' is a concert stage. During soccer games, they put up some temp bleachers and a beer garden.

old habit i guess.

You maybe thinking of the other place some people call Frisco and the people who live there don't like the name. This Frisco is an easy drive from Memphis; take 40-West to LR and take I-30 until you get to the Dallas area about a 7 hour drive.

Yep. Lots to do, shopping wise, eating wise. Short drive to Dallas or Ft Worth, come visit me. I am just south of Frisco, by DFW airport.

And definitely cheaper than flying into Miami.

Yep, easy drive from Memphis. Lots of shopping, restaurants. Dallas and Ft Worth close by.

Lots of family stuff in the whole area.

I'd rather not have to go to anymore football games played in baseball stadiums, as was the Miami Bowl.
A soccer stadium sounds a little better. Made for TV. How long before we play on a studio lot?

All I know is I've seen enough of Western KY over the past three years to last me the rest of my life.

Miami is great....but...this will allow thousands more Tiger fans for what is a second tier bowl anyway.

Orange Bowl? Miami. This bowl, Plano.

Tiger fans didn't even show up in Birmingham and that was a day trip.

Not going back to B'ham for a football game. You need a combination of travel-abiliity and destination/experience. B'ham is strong on one - too weak on the other.

That's not true - the game sold 59K tix, and it was around 20K from Memphis.

How would you know if you didn't even go? I did,and the traffic jam after the game further validated the total attendance. We sat for an hour between the stadium and the Arkadelphia Rd. /I-59 exit.

Game was a near sellout and Memphis represented extremely well in a hostile Auburn environment.

This is a very nice newly remodeled stadium where the Dallas FC pro soccer team plays its home games and where the National Soccer Hall of Fame is located. It is sunken into the ground and there are great bars, restaurants and hotels within walking distance. The DALLAS STARS NFL NHL teams home office is very close. Overall, a great place to play a football game and have a great time. Prefect stadium, perfect city, perfect game. I was at the game and it was completely flooded with Auburn fans. And there was very little traffic to speak of. We got out rather easily.

Birmingham is a craphole of a city. And the bowl is a toilet. I'm so glad that we no longer have UAB on the schedule because their stadium should be torn down.
