Was it that bad? Their stats didn't look too bad.

I don't really know what we have this year with so many changes in both lines. The young DLine looked good, but Charlotte recruited two JUCO OL that aren't there and will probably start. Team looks bigger and faster, but a lot of really experienced players left. Too hard to make predictions.
I did think the QBs looked pretty sharp. Some nice passes thrown tonight. Will also be good to get Trent Bostick back at WR. He's steady & good hands.
I think we go 2-2 at worst in OOC with the possibility of 3-1. I believe EMU brings back a decent amount of experience but we also played them last year with Olsen at QB.

Do you guys ever schedule down? Seems like you go through a meat grinder every year.
I think UAB can go 2-2. Hopefully we can get on a roll early in the season.

I have never come away from a spring game feeling good. Personally I will wait to the fall when everyone is there to make a prediction.

RE: Post Spring Game Assessment: OOC, Who You Going To Beat?
QBs wore red jerseys, so they only had to be touched to be down. Both QBs (KH and KG) are threats to run, so it skewed everything a little. Defense looked REALLY good, obviously. Still, athletically, defense looked sharp, confident. Our running game could potentially carry us. The passing game was ok, C- if I graded it.
UK, on paper, should stomp us. And should have stomped us last year, but they're UK. I expect to be a home underdog. That's just the chip we need.
Southern of BR brings one heck of a band. Wish I could be there for that. The stadium should begin emptying after the halftime show.
Can't ever remember playing AT ULaMo. Really need to stomp them. Expect to be favored by 10+.
We play the Vols after a good long grind, well into the season. They weren't very good last year and replace their QB, so I don't expect to get steamrolled unless we're busted-up by the time we play.

UTSA has a scary big & long defense. They are wild. We hopefully have a stud Baylor transfer coming in too, so I'd guess we will be a two headed monster on offense & very very good on D.

UTSA:
- Must win: vs. Southern (9/16; W)
- Should win but likely tougher than expected (rivalry game): @Texas State (9/23; W)
- Likely underdogs but with a decent chance of winning: vs. Houston (9/2; L)
- Long shot but might be catching program at good time: @ Baylor (9/9; L)
I predict we go 2 - 2.

You can go ahead and put TXST in the Must Win category. I've seen us practice. It isn't pretty. I'm a little optimistic our offense will improve but our defense is going to be more of the same, if y'all don't score more than 40 points on us something is wrong.

If we're going to have the season we expect (bowl game, winning record, challenge for division) then a convincing win versus TXST should be expected. The fact that it's a rivarly game, and a revenge game for TXST, makes me think it will be close.
I'm looking forward to a great atmosphere in San Marcos.

WKU offense won't be as explosive as last season. But we will still be very good. Lots of dropped balls from WR's in spring game. We had a few play makers on offense sitting out. Sophomore back Quiton Baker will pick up where Ace Wales left off last season as a speedster out of the backfield with Ferby returning by fall camp ready to be our big bruising back again.
Defense looks to be good this year. Have performed well all spring. I think defensively we will be better then last season so that should help offset a little bit of loss to offensive production.
Still think we go 4-0 in out of conference play.

It should be an amazing atmosphere! If only there wasn't construction all around to interfere with the tailgating. I hope we can keep it close so we don't have a mass exodus at halftime. I was surprised at how long people stayed for the Houston game last year considering we were probably down by at least 4 TDs at half. Great atmosphere for a while though lol

I guess a few years ago, we had Wagner, a beatable Texas (under year 2 of Strong with a QB dilemma), Army, and Baylor. Next year, supposedly, it will be UH, Hawaii, Wake Forest, & LSU. Long story short, when we 'schedule down', we are guaranteed to have at least 1 body bag game.
