I understand why he didn't get out of his commitment but it still looks bad for Memphis. I'd compare it to being hired as a Wal-Mart manager when a job that pays $100k comes swooping in but you decline because you already committed to Wal-Mart. Who would blame you for not staying at Wal-Mart? Even the employees would encourage you to go for the big job.

Fiction.

Memphis never had a spot for Stanley.

I'll say this and then I'll address rest on show today: Memphis did NOT lose a "potential target" to a D2 program. Period.

I was basing my opinion on what I read in the article.

Not gonna happen. Greenville media is bush-league, especially Pirate Radio.

We agree on this. If you gave Bertie County a newspaper and a radio station it would be just like what Greenville has now.

No desire to be big time. No desire to ask important questions or investigate for important answers.

In the triangle, two straight losses would have WRAL, The Fan, and the N&O sniffing around.

It crazy the amount of good ball players that come out of NC. Hell don't yall have a really good player from NC? You could probably field a decent team taking only strictly players from Eastern NC.

Middle Tennessee had Montario Haddock a few years ago who would've been a great player at East Carolina yet we didn't even offer that I know of and he went to South Central High School which is about 15 minutes from ECU campus. Crazy. Although that was under McCarthy, not Lebo, but still about par for the course with ECU.

Farmville Central High School, about 20 minutes away from campus has a great bball player right now and he supposedly was very interested in playing here but Lebo didn't feel he warranted an offer, then Kansas State comes in and offers him and he decides he must be good enough so we offer then.

ECU doesn't leverage it's position. We are in a location that has a LOT of D1 recruits and very competitive HS basketball. If Scottie Mo and his staff can show up to recruit's basketball games to recruit, so should Lebo.

That's what's truly perplexing to most people. ECU has some of the most fertile recruiting grounds in the conference. However, Temple is fishing those waters more than ECU is.

It's like Lebo is only trying to compete with Tulane and USF, and he doesn't realize that their new coaches (Dunleavy and Gregory) don't view him as competition. They are recruiting grown men to elevate their programs.

The newest ECU recruit wouldn't get a sniff from the Green Wave or the Bulls.
