Keelon Lawson never played at UAB. He was there about a month before the season started and left the team. Kennedy may have been there as a transfer during that month. If they were roommates, it was for around a month or two.

I wasn't here, but I heard this place turned on Cal at first. I guess that's why he coined the term 'miserables'.

RE: Andy Kennedy - I Go on Record saying he should have been the Tigers Head Coach
It is a moot point, but food for thought:

In the last 10 years, Tubby has been at Minny, Tech, and Memphis.

Record of 189-144 (73-107 in conference). Finished in bottom half of conference seven times. Zero conference titles. Zero conference tourney titles. 1-4 in the NCAA. 4-2 in NIT.

In the last 10 years, Kennedy at Ole Miss.

Record of 213-126 (90-80 in conference). Finished in bottom half of conference one time. One division title. One conference tourney title. 2-2 in the NCAA. 8-5 in NIT.

6th place or worse in conference: (in 10 seasons)
Tubby nine times
Kennedy four times

Kennedy: three 6th place (in a 14 team league) and 4th in 6 team division.

Tubby:In 11 team B1G: 6th(twice), 7th, and 9th.
In 12 team B1G: 7th and 9th.
In 10 team Big 12: 7th, 9th, 10th.

I wasn't here either. I can imagine the all out bashfest though, heck we have some here that know better than all the coaches.

Correct. After Cal's 3rd/4th year at Memphis, before the one and done rule and his first Elite 8, the majority of this board was saying to get rid of him. True story.

Definitely eye-opening, but you're saying the SEC is every bit as competitive as the Big 10 and Big 12?

Andy Kennedy would have been a marginally better hire than Tubby.

True. Add the fact that Old Miss has a lot more recruiting benefits than Minny or Tex Tech. Finally, if only Andy had the other half of Tubby's resume to fall back on.

Would have supported him 10 years ago, when he was a "potential" coach. Now that I see reality...pass.

Now that AK has a nice basketball facility, it will be interesting to watch his next phase.

The new arena is really cool and he now has a level playing field to recruit better players

All said, I'm still very much in support of Coach Smith. I think he's going to turn it around now that the cancers are removed.

IF AK were a great coach he would be winning big at Ole Miss by now. He has had plenty of time to put together the type of team to make small runs in the NCAA. Look at all the other small schools "Cinderella's" with good coaches that bring in 2 or 3 decent players, coach them up then make runs. The only time I remember AK being a factor was the 2 years he had that loudmouth idiot knocking down ridiculous 3's over and over.
