Ok, I looked back at the post and I didn't remove enough of the quotes. It was a UofMemphis post with about a dozen embedded. I cut it down for my post because I hate it when people keep quoting embedded posts so eventually it takes up a whole page to say "me too". I stopped one quote tag too short. Sorry about that and I can now see your confusion, you were just one of the embedees (another reason to hate a dozen embedded quotes).

Right? No idea how both guys, especially Moorman, didn't break into the Top 150 (and Top 100) for that matter.

Temple's 2017 class is stellar and hopefully is a sign of things to come.

Moorman looks like he will be a player. Solid class for Temple. Y'all should be much better next year with Rose and Alston getting a year older.

Was disappointed Will Douglas dropped from a 4-star for SMU, because he missed 2/3 of the season with an ankle injury.

Rivals' head guy told me he'd be in the top 150 and then wasn't. I just don't see how you leave him off, other than the fact that he signed with Temple instead of NC State.

We'll see where they rank Barrett. Arky and Michigan both had serious interest in the player. Tulane is at 79th nationally, but they don't have all of the kids in yet.

Cincinnati's incoming class is weak. Keith Williams will contribute right away and is probably underrated. The other two guys seem like projects to me, which is a bad ratio. We need two impact players and one project, not the other way around. We do have an open scholarship and are one of the favorites to land Kansas transfer Carlton Bragg, so there is still a chance to improve.

I don't follow rankings much but Tulsa fans are pretty happy with our class. We have a Chicago guard and a KC guard who were both top-150 at some point in their senior seasons. We also have an athletic Juco wing with D-1 experience and a Nebraska transfer who will be sitting next year and will have three to play. We'll also have a transfer from Charlotte who sat out last year at SG. With our new players from last year getting more comfortable in their roles and gaining strength I expect us to be much more competitive next season and I'm hoping for 20+ wins.

I see how it is...blame the Memphis fan for everything...

its not amazing but it's not horrible...we are around #59 now right next to Cuse. Mick has had a ton better classes but we could have done worse too.

We just signed a 3* SF Mamoudou Diarra who is ranked 190 in the nation. He had offers from Washington, UCONN, Kstate, Marquette, and Mizzou.

Again, not amazing, but not horrible.

Im surprised we had no four star kids. Mick usually has one or two in the class. That is what surprises me. Hopefully the new arena will help with that. The conference isn't going to be something that we can use as a nice backdrop so Mick has to sell the program, himself as a coach, and the arena.

The problem with Mick is we don't put a lot of kids in the NBA. That is a big feather in the cap that helps get the five star and high four star kids. Mick's kind of style, focus on defense, toughness, team play vs individual glory doesn't help him get those kids because they are about themselves most of the time and putting up numbers to look good in the draft. We aren't going to get those kids due to Mick's style. So its tough.

With Diarra committing, Cinci's class looks pretty nice if Bragg commits too.
I think the conference with Wichita State aboard has been a nice backdrop in a lot of recruitments. I've started seeing some lower level AAC teams being mentioned by recruits who wouldn't normally have them in the mix. The conference has been sited in interviews.

I hadn't heard anything about the Tulsa recruiting class this year.. Hope it is good, because Haith hasn't had that strong of classes the past few years. Taplin and Etou could use some help.

RE: 247 updated Hoop Rankings 2017
I think Tulsa's last class will turn out better than most expect. Haith had so many new players to evaluate in game situations it took awhile for the cream to rise to the top.

Igbanu is going to be a beast. He's got great offensive moves inside and positions well for the rebound, once he puts on some muscle in a good strength and conditioning program he'll be even better. Then in the last half of conference play he unveiled an outside shot going 3-4 from beyond the arc in one game.

Magnay was hindered by injury the latter portion of the season but early on showed signs that he could be a classic center for TU, something we haven't had in a while. He's got excellent timing on blocks and knows how to go up vertical and come down with the ball. His offense isn't quite as good as Igbanu's yet but has the potential to be better.

It would be nice if Lebo just tried to cheat. That would at least show that he cared.

If you want to celebrate mediocrity, go for it.

I guess that applies to the whole AAC then. Even the ones that bash our heads in with their mediocre talent.

Don't get me wrong I'd still kill to have Memphis' program but I don't think y'all have been nearly as good as y'all think you are. Take those appearances away and you're basically VCU with a better arena.

Memphis has

26 NCAA tournament appearances
11 Sweet 16 appearances
6 Elite 8 appearances
3 Final Fours
2 Finals appearances

To go along with

14 conference championships
11 conference tournament championships

And an NIT title.

I'm pretty sure Memphis is easily a top 30 program.
