if not him ...

THEN WHO

Swofford, Delaney, or either the new or old SEC commish.

The only conference realignment expert that I know of is a history book.

I can't argue w/ that.

RENDEZVOUS WITH DESTINY

If you're trying to convince me that the B12 has serious systemic issues that threaten its stability, then stop selling, salesman.

If you're trying to convince me that the University of Texas might end up in the ACC in some capacity in the next 10-15 years, then sold.

If you're trying to convince me that Frank is the foremost expert in conference realignment - or even an expert in conference realignment as all, then good luck.

He's a nice guy and a good poster, but he's not an expert.

Delaney's good (BTN, Nebraska) but expert may be a little generous. He failed in his ultimate objectives of UVA, UNC, Duke, GATech and the destruction of the ACC. He did get Maryland, but almost lost PSU and had to take Rutgers. The ACC is still standing and gaining population while the BTN is stagnant growth wise.

It coincides with the start up of the ACCN so the timing is ideal.

With little cost to the ACC, I think it would generate positive revenue.

College hockey. ND has a contract with NBC Sports to televise all ND home hockey games.

The Hockey East Conference has a separate hockey TV contract.

I didn't realize that was a separate contract. I guess that would make the NBC/ND football contract a single sport contract as well?

I think my point still stands - Hopkins LAX is a major player and a TV draw.

To clarify, I think he's an expert on knowing what's going on, because large scale realignment has primarily been driven by one of 3 conferences, and one of them is his.

And you know these were his ultimate objectives how? Did you see somebody post that on the internet?

I have no problem considering Delaney an expert on realignment if for no other reason than that he has had private and direct conversations about it with pretty much all the main players. And I stress the words "private" and "direct".

It would be nice if ACC adds Penn State. We could use a basketball doormat while boosting football power.

That would be my dream but of course it is about as likely now as Maryland re-joining the league.

Texas isn't joining the ACC. Even if Texas were interested, would current ACC members want a school with a history of being the cause of great disruption in their current conference because they keep throwing their weight around? Most B12 members HATE being in the same conference with Texas.

Texas did that by manipulating in-state schools. It is not coincidence that, when the B12 was formed, 4 of the schools were from Texas. When Texas lost the ability to manipulate A&M another Texas school was brought in.

Texas could could try that in the ACC but I don't think most ACC members would flinch.
