Not sure if this has been shared here yet. Bolin is a great player just stuck behind a Heisman Trophy winner. He said Cincinnati was one of the 5 schools to contact him. Also he apparently attended your spring game on Friday night. He's from Lexington so I would expect he'll choose your Bearcats to stay close to home.

Nothing is a guarantee with Gibson even becoming eligible yet. If Bolin wants to come here we will welcome him with open arms and if Gibson pans out he has 3 years of eligibility. Imagine the possibilities next year with the Bolin/ Gibson tandem at QB

He's listed on recruiting sites as signing a LOI. Not sure he can just walk away without having to sit out another year.

I think with Jucos it's different. The LOI for them is like a promise to promise.

This intrigues me, because Gibson has sorta given off the vibe that he's waiting in the shadows to inevitably become the starter. Perhaps Bolin is more willing to compete for the starting job against an unproven player than Lamar Jackson?

Gibson has not taken a snap at QB since High School and has been out of football for a year. It would be the perfect scenario to have a guy who can do it for one year at a high level while Gibson gets his sea legs under him. Moore and Trail are likely not that guy and I have a sneaking suspicion the staff fears that.

Gibson is a splashy signing, but to the points of those that have made it - there's nothing given about the guy. I find it hard to imagine a guy that has been sitting around as long as he has is ready to come in and be a starting QB out the gates.

I'd happily take a guy that has been taking reps on the college level for the last few years. Say what you will about Loserville's coach....but one thing you can't say is they guy doesn't know how to coach up QBs. A well groomed and seasoned grad transfer could come in and work in with Gibson/ whomever, and benefit us big time.

I think Gibson and the Bearcats would be best served to use him in packages until he demonstrates that he's ready to fully take the reins. He's also got 3 years. In a worse case scenario he'd be around to start '18 & 19, and still position himself for the NFL.

Has Bolin even started more than one game in his college career? He may be decent backup, but is he a proven starter? He had one decent game against a subpar UK team. I still rather go with the guy's already here.

I can see your point in not upsetting team chemistry, but the guys that are here have not been very good. If the kid comes here and wins the job, I don't see a problem.

I tend to agree he only had a couple hundred yards passing last year in mop up games. He is 3-3 in six lifetime starts ( one a bowl his freshman year when they were blown out). Career wise he has about 1500 yards less passing than Hayden Moore. He is not much of a running threat.

The question is whether he is an upgrade over our current QB depth chart. You take as many players and as much depth as possible, regardless of the projected starting roster.

It's what big time programs do.

Bolin plays for a scum bag hope it did not rub off. The entire UL program is lead by a scum bag. Getting prostitutes for recruits and bring them to a on campus dorm and them claiming no responsibility is enough for me to lose respect for the athletic program.
