I'd pass. Don't like 1-and-done QBs, as we're right back to breaking in someone new into the system again next year.

True, but you're giving the long term guys a full year to learn the offense, and see it on the field from the sidelines. If you don't have any separation or a guy that you are excited about as the coach, why not let them continue to develop in the new system while using a gun for hire, who frankly is probably a little more talented.

Added depth and competition only makes the situation at QB better.

Bolin said he’s already had several schools contact him, including Cincinnati, Texas, Northern Illinois and Western Michigan. He made a visit to Cincinnati on Friday for the Bearcats' Spring Game.
The 6-foot-2, 215-pound Bolin, a native of Lexington, Ky., was rated a four-star prospect coming out of Lexington Catholic. He redshirted during the 2013 season at U of L and appeared in four games during the ’14 season.

If Western has contacted him, their is interest for a reason. It's not like we are getting sparkling reports and someone has grabbed a hold of the position thus far. I'm all for it.

We at NIU need a guy like that. MAC West would look different with him in deKalb.
