Exclamation Probable changes to the D-I FB recruiting calendar
Sounds like this could receive a final vote later this month.

The biggest thing would be an 'early signing period' in December starting this December.

I like it. If a kid has visited, likes the school, get him signed up in December to eliminate that last minute poaching or attempted poaching.

And then in January the coaching staff will know many (most?) of their recruits and know what they need to do to finish up for Feb's signing day.

RE: Probable changes to the D-I FB recruiting calendar
I believe I read that schools will no longer be able to sign more than 25 prospects.

There is a hard limit of 25 new scholarships each new school year.

What was happening is that some schools, including WMU, signed more than 25 prospects and then had to 'play games' to get down to 25.

Think of it like an airline selling more seats on a plane than there actually are. Then the 'fun' begins...

Well, getting bumped from an airline can be profitable, but NOT a good thing for a football prospect. It is a total downer.

What does this mean: I think the biggest thing is how coaches will view those who are borderline academically. If 3 (of 25) are signed and then are not eligible, are those 3 scholarships wasted that year???
