At least two of those kids are from Louisiana. Robinson and Anderson.
They were recruited by WKU assistant Quannas White, who was an AAU coach in Louisiana for almost a decade.
White played on Kelvin Sampson's Final Four team at Oklahoma.
He recently left WKU and joined Sampson's staff at Houston.
I hope this means our recruiting will pick up.
I have a feeling White has already helped with Corey Davis, the San Jac guard (originally from Louisiana) who was considering WKU a few months ago, and wound up choosing Houston over LSU and Colorado.

If WKU can pull those guys in a 1 bid league, imagine what could happen at ECU if they finally get serious about competing.
I realize that WKU has more basketball history but the TV time and opponents ECU can offer should be able to land them a coach that knows what he's doing.
Lebo was hired for WKU's conference. If only you could just switch.
Why do so many ECU fans get enamored with other programs? These kids are not going to be at WKU until they are. You have to ask yourself what happens when bigger and better schools come calling. WKU has not tv exposure and plays in one of the worst basketball conferences in teh country. Why in the world would any of these good players stay committed to WKU? They will be in a one bid league and stuck playing without any national tv exposure. Just not going to happen.

They signed their NLI.
I'm not enamored with WKU. I am just wondering how the hell WKU can pull something like this off and we can't.

I am in Bowling Green right now as I have family here. It just comes down to culture. WKU would never in a million years accept a product like ECU Basketball just as ECU would never accept a product like WKU Baseball. I just listened to the story yet again of the 1971 WKU basketball team that went to the Final Four and beat Kentucky in the Sweet 16 107-83. They have a proud history but also not all ancient history as they made Sweet 16 runs in 1993 and 2008. Bottom line is it is a far easier sale for a WKU Coach to talk Basketball recruits into coming to WKU then it is for an ECU Coach to talk kids into coming to Greenville. I think with the ECU being in the AAC with programs like UCONN, UC, Memphis, Temple, Wichita St etc.. that there is no excuse not to be able to recruit kids to come play that could at least get us to a NIT level of talent like UCF this year. Heck my dream is for ECU to play in the NIT and host a game at home and make it to the Finals in Madison Square Garden. I would be damn happy with a run like that.
they were stratigic ..And rick stansbury is a good recruiter
First they hired Mitchell Robinson's godfather (why he chose wku)...And after you and land one more more to come
Then he hired quannas white, who was pretty big in the LA AAU circuits (brought tulane their first ever 4star recruit 2 years ago).. he got them Anderson .. who he had known and been recruiting for years ..(note houston just hired quannas from WKU a week ago and he already got us a top 20 juco pg)
Whats crazy is that they could have gotten a few more elite guys, they almost got a 5star transfer from miss st (stansburys old job), and were top 3 for a Houston area high 4star player... They could have had a top 5 type recruiting class
But playing for WKU will be tough. They will never be on TV, and have to win 29+ in the regular season..they have to dominate c-usa
But this in all honesty could be c-usa's one last chance to dramatically increase their value before their new deal...

Got ya
If I recall correctly I think they beat a Penny Hardaway lead Memphis team in the NCAA tourney once. It was a shocker to me at the time from what I remember.
WKU had better dominate C-USA with that kind of recruiting class. Maybe some of our schools should hit them up for games in the next couple years. It looks like they are going to be a quality opponent.

For the people claiming cheating. Does anyone honestly believe we could outbid or out pay P5 schools or even some AAC schools for recruits. Come on now get real. If you want to know how WKU got these guys just listen to Stansbury talk for a few minutes. The man could have a second career selling cars.
Just to correct a few things. You all keep saying WKU doesn't get TV time. But we don't bank on CUSA's crap TV deal. WKU has a private deal with Fox College Sports that airs every home game and almost every away game nationally (the ones that aren't picked up on the CUSA TV package). We don't sit here and go un-televised like most of CUSA.
Also WKU just signed the #3 Juco guard in the nation who hit 151 3-pointers while shooting 46% from behind the arc this past season for the #1 team in Juco.
Jordan Brangers:
WKU also had a few transfers sitting out this past season that don't count towards the recruiting rankings.
former 4-star PG Lamonte Bearden who led Buffalo to two MAC titles in his freshman and sophomore seasons.
former 4-star PF and Syracuse commit Moustapha Diagne who had to go Juco for grades. He declared for the draft after his freshman season. You can't do that and go back to Juco so he had to sit out last season after transferring to WKU.
Also got 3-star PF Robinson Idehen who had to sit out this past season due to grades coming out of high school. He will not be eligible until the 2nd semester.
