We're getting better starting performances out of our midweek starter and fill in guys than our regular guys right now...go figure.
At the rate this is going, we'll have three brand new weekend starters by the time we make our annual trek to get annihilated by the Cajuns next weekend.

Apps commit six errors in a 18-1 beat down by UTA. Can it get any worse?

And I don't mean just here. I was extremely unimpressed by their attendance at a Friday night baseball game between the top two teams in the conference. Way too many empty seats in that stadium.
Nobody knows who Louisiana is, they are all waiting to show when we play ULL.
Serious answer .... it should have been more but we had over 2,000 and that is more than our season average. Before Springs Brooks was built the former stadium held a few hundred seats. So we are still building the fan has.
The other thing is people like to sit on the berms or sit / walk around the boardwalk. So just glancing at seats doesn't tell the whole story.

I was in attendance, but it was also unseasonably cold, and a lot of people don't sit in their seats. They buy tickets and go sit on the berms or the boardwalk. If everyone was in their seats last night with the attendance numbers the park would have been full. But hey, great night of baseball, ULL won on a wind assisted homer, 6 inches was the difference. Wish that wind kept blowing though after the 2nd, when we started to get the barrel on the ball.

Cajuns,
Great game last night. Your pitching was on point. Very impressive. Looking forward to the rest of the series.
For those of you throwing rocks at our attendance, shut the hell up.
We are the number 2 team in the conference in season average attendance (behind only the Cajuns). As already pointed out, we have a beautiful park that people spread out in. They walk and stand along the board walk and on the berms. We aren't confined to being in the seats, and most people don't choose to sit all game.
We had over 2k people there last night. If you want to ***** about attendance, start a Little Rock attendance thread.

Have a beer and calm down. He asked a reasonable question and got a reasonable explanation that makes total sense. No need to be so offended and go off the deep end. You're the new guy here so we're going to have those questions.

Yes. Thanks Cat, I was about to post the same. I didn't realize you guys had a boardwalk going around the outfield. That explains a little about why every time they showed the seats they were 70% empty. Kudos for bringing more than 2,000. Hopefully it's even more packed today and tomorrow.

Another good game today. It looked like the Cajuns would take advantage of numerous Coastal errors and inconsistent pitching but Coastal was able to score 4 runs in the 9th to win 9-8. Rubber match tomorrow and should be another good one.

We decided to give it back when our AA closer struggled with getting his go to breaking ball over.

Attendance was down more than I expected this weekend as well. Conway High and many other local HS's had their prom night's this weekend in Myrtle Beach. Saturday was also the spring football game as well. I think those played a factor in attendance. I'm guilty of walking around most of the game myself so my seats looked empty for most of the game. You always run into someone you haven't seen in a while around the boardwalk and berms. Plus my little one's love the sandbox at the RF berm. If the camera panned over to that sandbox you'd see where all the dads were busy watching the game while their kids take turn dumping handfuls of sand in each others hair.
I sat beside I very nice Cajun couple today. Man, I thought I had an accent! Those that I've had the pleasure to meet have been super classy. It's been a great series so far. Hopefully they will keep it up. I'm loving this rivalry. Geaux Chants!

AState takes a pitchers duel over Georgia State 4-2 to clinch the series. Will go for the sweep tomorrow.
It's our first ever series win over the Panthers.

Garrett Rucker made Sports Center's Top 10 plays last night with one of the best catches I've ever seen an Arkansas State player make.
