RE: NFL Realignment
That's easy to say, but there are plenty of cities lined up to "waste" their money to get a team and get the financial boom to the region that comes with it.

Be careful what you ask for, because you just might get it in the form of no NFL team in town bringing people downtown.

8/365 days a year. I think downtown would survive.

Im sorry to say this...but almost all of the people who say it was a bad deal for Hamilton County dont even live in the county. Secondly, if you want the Bengals to leave, you are not a fan of them and you are probably a bandwagon fan of another team. I love the Bengals, Reds, and Bearcats win, lose, playoff losses, it doesnt matter...if you want the NFL to leave Cincinnati, then you are an absolute Moron. We then become Dayton ohio..no nfl, a minor league baseball team, and good college basketball...Let the bashing and personal insults about me proceed..

RE: NFL Realignment
We are very lucky to have an NFL franchise...bottom line. If they leave, we will never have another team..UC attendance will be the same if the bengals leave. If the cats dont win, nobody shows up. Its the truth ....Its also about civic pride. It is only 8 games plus pre season, but it is a great time downtown and people spend alot of money..ever been to the banks on a normal sunday morning? not much going on. I dont like Mike Brown, He runs the Bengals like IGA, when other teams run like Kroger...but they are my team. it is what it is..I have accepted it..I was born and grew up here. i want them to succeed in everyway. I wish they were like the patriots..But they are far from it.They honestly should have 2 superbowl titles, if not for Mr. Montana. Rooting for them to move is plain stupidity

I'd rather the Bengals stay in Cincy. But I'd much rather the Bengals had a different owner. The best part of Mikey ran down Paul's leg, methinks. Oh, and while I'm at it, I'd also much rather the Bengals had a different head coach. I simply can't imagine any other NFL team putting up with Marvin Lewis's unique brand of mediocrity for so many seasons.

You can google articles all day that say there is no financial boom involved, just a ripoff of the taxpayers. The Bengals' leaving would probably be a big shot in the arm to UC and X athletics, along with lots of other home-grown entertainment options.

Montana didn't show much in Super Bowl XXIII until Tim Krumrie busted his leg. If Tim hadn't suffered that injury, the Bengals would have kicked a$$.

while I respect your opinion, I disagree. Alot of people in this area have pride because the teams are Cincinnati. Alot of people dont think about the costs of having these teams...not saying that isnt important to many people. If the bengals left, it would affect alot of things that we dont pay attention to. I really think UC football would gain nothing from the bengals leaving. We are still in the AAC, and as you know, look at last year..no winning no showing up. The Bengals frustrate the hell out of me..but to say that it would not hurt the city if they left is crazy to me.

I agree...we are the city of what if's!! what if Kenyon didnt break his leg, what if Johnny cueto doesnt get hurt against the giants in the NLDS. What if Carson didnt tear his ACL. and what if j hill didnt fumble..What if we didnt play UCLA in 02 as a 1 seed. What if Texas missed the kick that would have sent the cats to the nc...something is bound to go right for the city someday

RE: NFL Realignment
The Bengals would leaving would be a huge negative impact on the region. People spend money in the city with hotels, food, beer, merchandise at stores. It would definitely be felt (And I bet San Diego is feeling some of that impact which is why they really want a team back). UC would see a little shot in the arm from some Bengal fans that may be casual UC fans that want a football fix, but probably not a huge one. Many Bengals fans are casual Bearcat fans it seems and while some may go to games, many will just save their money for other stuff. Definitely would be a huge negative to lose the Bengals, not to mention we have a huge stadium for them and while maybe there are other uses for it, you can't have something like that without a primary tenant. And you sure as heck aren't blowing it up after we paid and still pay so much money for it.

It's 8 days a year. 10 if you count the extortion of preseason games.

I think we'd find a way to survive somehow.

RE: NFL Realignment
Well I for one would be sad to see the Bengals go. I get that Mikey is a tool and everyone hates him, it still doesn't take away the fact I've grown watching them my whole life. I know I'm probably a sucker for doing so, but UC and the Reds have pulled the Lucy move with the ball on me just as much as the Bengals. I guess I'm just a sucker with all my teams.

I would be devastated if the Bengals left cincy. There would be no effect on UC athletics like others have mentioned. Does anyone think San Diego St. is going to somehow become a power (or power 5) in football now that they only have the Padres? San Diego is a larger market than us as well. As much as I dislike Mike Brown and Marvin Lewis they are still our team and the only chance we have of ever winning a championship in football in this city.

This is not about our feelings,, it is about what is sustainable and where Cincinnati fits in the bigger NFL picture.. Cincinnati is over extended with trying to support (2) pro teams... Not having the Bengals is not the end of the world. The Reds, UC and Xavier would benefit with 1 less team...

Cincinnati is not overextended supporting to pro teams. That's just silly. Cincinnati has a plenty big metropolitan area to support both. I'm always skeptical of Forbes evaluation of franchises...we've repeatedly seen them go for way more on the open market regardless of the sport. Cincinnati can and has supported the Bengals.

I'm betting on the Bengal's leaving. Cincy cannot compete with bigger, faster growing markets, and does not have $1.5b for a stadium. Our best bet is MLS.
