Georgetown hires Ewing
I suspect this is the last hire Georgetown will make who is expected to be both a coach and a black cultural figure. (Unless of course Ewing does great, in which case 10-20 years down the road, we're looking at a successor to Big John-JT3-Ewing as a coaching dynasty of sorts.)

With Ewing at Georgetown and Mullin at St Johns, our programs have to either live up to the 1980s or finally get past them.

RE: Georgetown hires Ewing
If Ewing is able to hire WKU's Shammond Williams, who he played with in Seattle, it would be an incredible recruiting-get. I have no doubt that Ewing will be able to recruit top big men to come to Georgetown. With his success as a player at both Georgetown and the NBA, as well as coaching players like Dwight Howard, Yao Ming, and Al Jefferson, he should have no problem getting high school big men to come to play there.
