Personal preference here but I wouldn't want to sign guys just for the sake of signing guys.

I know he's not the answer, Keith. We need bodies for depth purposes. That's my point.

I think we are 9 deep next year if Dedric leaves...guess it depends on how good Azab and Nickelberry are...

That's my thought, too. He will only take a scholly for one year. it'd be better to give it to a one year player like King, than let it go unused. If King can be as good as he was his final year here, he can help us next year. I suppose a counter-argument would be that, unless he is much better than the younger guys, you may want to play the younger guys to develop them for the future.

WHO ?

What's the rule on a re-transfer? Do you lose the "who?"

You don't lose it, it just transfers to another fanbase.

That's correct. For them he's a plain who. For us, he would be a who-once-removed.

Beggars can't be choosers.

If he was 100% healthy, I'd roll the dice.

What we need to do, is get some six-eight to six-eleven Kentucky/North Carolina type of guys in here up front and then worry about our back court. I do think with this type of mixture, along with one more point guard we would have a deep bench. That new point guard would have to be a good ball handler/shooter.

We don't seem to be recruiting in the big and tall JUCO colleges.

RE: Nick King
There were issues but I think fatigue down the stretch killed us and a lack of depth. I don't ever want to go through an entire season where we're stuck with playing six players and some of them were role players at best. Therefore, provided Dedric stays as Itsdude so eloquently stated...we will be nine deep next season. Azab looks great on video and a bonus for Nickleberry is that he plays multiple positions. Keith is right in that Tubby needs to recruit tough kids with a winning mindset. Kids that will play with high energy for 48 minutes. Kids who will buy in and want to play for Memphis! Hell, kids grew up wanting to play for Memphis. We need to develop that Memphis swag again.

Think we are good with Martin and Johnson....need some bigs and a spot up shooter.

04-cheers

I hope it's just a rumor. It would behoove Dedric to stay at least one more year 03-hissyfit 03-hissyfit

If they are advertised then Orlando will once again fail to finish above .500 in conference. They need to be better than advertise for Tigers to do any significant next year.

Maybe it behooves him to stay. Maybe not. If 20 PPG and 10 RPG doesn't put him on somebody's NBA radar, then I doubt 22 and 12 will do it, either.

Every year, there are players like Dedric who put up really impressive numbers, usually in the lesser conferences, by the way, who don't sniff the NBA. I think that's where Dedric is and will remain. He'll get a couple of tryouts and then have a nice career overseas. NBDL teams generally have one "Big" centerpiece per roster, and Dedric's not big enough/good enough/strong enough to be that guy, I don't think. I see Dedric as a classic "tweener" in size, and skillset.
