Hey wait a minute, I grew up in that town.

But you got out I hope.
I did, lived in Hyde Park when I was going to UC.
When I was growing up in Norwood (in the '50s) it was a great town. Obviously it has changed a lot since then, particularly since the infestation of the Xavierites.

Norwood in the 50s is where a bunch of EYE-Talians lived.

RE: Preferred Gonzaga v EggSaver Outcome
When Fisher Body was still operating and a couple other businesses were operating, Norwood was a thriving town and good place for blue collar people to live, work and raise their kids. With the loss of jobs, just like everywhere else in the United States, the economy of Norwood went to hell, the smart people moved and the less wanted people moved in causing urban blight.

The late 50s one side of my family all lived within a few blocks of each other. Then in '59 they all moved out to White Oak en masse.

At least they now hold a record. Most trips to the NCAA tournament without a Final 4.03-lmfao

They cannot even win that as BYU has 29.

X will never get that tag. They are a largely white catholic school even if they fail to make it to the final four for another few decades it will be considered bad form to apply that kind of criticism.

Do UK boards melt down in schadenfreude like this when U of L loses?

Don't know, don't care. This is bush league. Yay the school across town went to the elite 8 and lost. Seriously?

I have said many times that Xavier basketball has surpassed us. Chris Mack is a good coach. Doesn't mean I have to root for them.

There was a Camaro or Firebird plant also in Norwood. It was shutdown in 89 I think.
That plant had the worse employee work attendance rate in the USA, for a GM shop. It is all office buildings now where the plant was.

Mark Few will be going to his first Final Four in 18 years as Gonzagas head coach.

They are far more disciplined on offense than the other teams X has drawn and while not a great outside shooting team they are better than the other teams X has drawn. I think the Zags have been the best team all year and they show why in a pretty dominating performance this afternoon. I don't think Mack can hide his defensive liabilities like he has brilliantly done the entire tournament.

Let's all agree this was pretty on the nose.

Gonzaga also went through a time frame from 2002 to 2014 where they had two Sweet 16, eight round of 32, and three first round exits.

2015 to the current tournament is Elite 8, Sweet 16, and Final Four.

I always believe that as long the coach is winning and getting the team to the tournament without taking shortcuts that hurt the program you keep the coach. There is too much evidence out there that if a school makes the tournament enough times a run in the tournament usually will occur. Some programs will make more runs based on better resources and other advantages; however, I no doubt that the Bearcats under Cronin will eventually breakthrough a few times.

If Oregon can make the FF after 78 years can UC do it sometime in the next 50 years?

Ironically thanks to Nike money they were able to hire away our top recruiter. If you look at when our talent dropped it was very soon after Stubblefield left.
