There were no sweeps last weekend, so 6 teams sit at 2-1 and 6 teams sit at 1-2 entering play today.

It's going to storm in Mobile tomorrow. So we're probably looking at a Sunday doubleheader or early Saturday game that could finish before the weather. It's already windy ahead of the storm so it should be a fun weekend.

I have a scheduling issue with the SBC administration. If you're trying to maximize your attendance for baseball and softball, why do they seem to have more weekends than not where both sports are playing at home on the same weekends?

This has been a gripe for USA fans for several years. You invest in your school's athletics and try to support both programs. But then the SBC can't seem to schedule your softball team away when they schedule you to have home baseball games and vice versa. I don't get it either.

The game tomorrow has been moved to 11AM.

Texas State rallies with two in the ninth and three more in the 11th to defeat App 6-3.

We played the National Champs. Lost 5-0 with one hit.

So this just happened...

USA's Eddie Papperella (who homered in his last at bat) came to the plate and the GSU pitcher threw behind him at his head. The ump immediately ejected the GSU pitcher and GSU Coach Frady (as there were warnings issues earlier).

Oh, USA leads 2-0 in the bottom of the 6th.

Gotta give it up to App they played us tough today. Hopefully we can lock the series down tomorrow but App is no joke this year.

Cardiac Cats now 4-0 in games that have gone to extra innings ... . .

AC has a perfect game through 6. Went 6.1 until giving up a base runner, then gave up his lone hit in the 8th.

A complete game 1 hit shutout is a nice way to start the weekend

We misplay a ball that we had no chance to catch which led to the tying runs in the 9th. Cats took it from there. Apps are better, but still have some old habits to break.

Texas State you're welcome for the win. Top of the 9th Apps up 3-1. Man in 1st, 1 out. little liner to center and our guy tries to make a diving catch. Of course the ball gets past him and rolls to the wall. Man scores to make it 3-2 with the hitter making it al the way to 3rd. Wild pitch allows the tying run to cross. Ground out, Walk, Fly out. There is absolutely no reason to try and make that play. If he does the intelligent thing and keeps the ball in fromt of him the Apps win 3-1.

GSU @ USA is starting in an early game ahead of expected storms. Wind gusts have been recorded up to 30 mph, blowing from right field to left. We might see a few bombs leave the yard today.
