lol. My LA friends, who cheered our Tiger FootBall team on to beat Houston, gave it to me. We talked a bar owner into opening at 9AM so we could see that game on the big screen.... The UCLA dude wore a Tigers ball cap and cheered his ax off. He never got depressed when we were behind...and We Won!!!

I think I might have promised to return the favor in the victory celebration that followed. This cap showed up a couple weeks ago in the mail. lol

...although in reading his comments about Memphis on ESPN's website, he still seems to miss one big point.

While this does not speak for all, people were not so much upset that he left for a blue blood like Kentucky, but that he left us on probation, had bullied in order to keep the pending probation quiet, and while still being paid by us, was actively recruiting kids to essentially transfer with him.

Note the mostly supportive attitudes to Justin Fuente...let alone Gene Bartow.

No, I'm looking forward to whatever team beats the everlivin H out of those Kensuckians. And I do hope it's the Ducks.

F' Caligula

Anyone who would congratulate that !!#!#$!@!@$ really does not know the full story of what he did here. And if you do, I question your morals, or self esteem.

I know what he still does here for the community. I am not interested in your morals story. And you really don't need to question my self esteem.

If you would like to come clean here instead of publicly insinuating stuff, we're all ears and eyes.

Why don't you tell us what he still does for our community, instead. I am not a hater of that man or any man...but I haven't heard about his continued support of our community. I would be interested.

Were you asleep, or even alive, from 1982 through 1986 when teams made five consecutive NCAAs, four sweet 16s, a final four, a number one ranking, and advancing in each of those seasons.

Or perhaps you missed the Larry Finch teams, one of which played for the. Actionable title before losing to dynastic UCLA.

And surely you were unaware of the run from 1988 through 1996, a period of nine seasons that resulted in six NCAA tourneys, all American Penny Hardaway, an Elite Eight and. Sweet 16.

Hell, even under the supposed terrible years of Josh Pastner, teams made the NCAA four consecutive years, two of those years advancing.

Epic phail.

@joe_mussatto @ChristianDudley He deserves it, but that's probably the loudest/best attended any b-ball event has been in Memphis all year.

This is true except for maybe a few Grizzlies games.

not just a few, but most - that college beat writer forgot about that while trying to be funny

Welcome Back John

Don't like KY, but respect what you did for our program and city for your years here

Not trying to be a smart azz, just curious. Change the scenario, if it was the Grizz instead of the Tigers, would you still feel the same way about Cal?

Appreciate that he pulled us out of the dregs to relevance but hate that he tried to put us back down to the dregs on his way out the door,

What??

Recruiting is the lifeblood of college basketball, not pro.

Irrelevant comparison

Plenty of people know what he did, not only to his family, but to his players. What he did to the fans and the university will have to speak for itself. It would take a book to detail everything he did here over all his years. Sometimes a lack of morals hurts people, and he hurt people.

His wife was in the stands the other day. His son is on the team.

There was a invite only big $ party this week on the rooftop of the Peabody and a lot of prominent Memphians were there.

Most of his ex-players love him.

Only a small percentage of fans/players/humanoids are butthurt over Calipari.

The media did a fine job of creating something that really wasn't there.

Just the lunatic fringe in reality.
