Question for Nancy Pelosi: Who is the Leader of Your Party Right Now?
Quote:I'll give you the fun goodies first. On CNN last evening, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi -- who regularly alternates 'least popular Congressional leader' championships with Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer -- was asked by Anderson Cooper about the state of the Democratic Party. Who is its leader, the host asked, indirectly referencing the reality that voters have relegated Democrats to minority status virtually everywhere but a small handful of states. The first two names to pop into Pelosi's mind were an ex-president who decimated the party over his tenure in office, and a failed presidential candidate who managed to lose to an allegedly unelectable opponent. RE: Question for Nancy Pelosi: Who is the Leader of Your Party Right Now?
Baltimore, DC, Newark, Camden, Cleveland, Detroit, Chicago, Oakland, Minneapolis, Stockton, Sacramento etc – all one-party cities where “politics” is a matter of internal Democrat party power utilization. Is Democratic policy or control threatened in any of the cities or towns above? No. Of course not. It's more likely that I am elected MN 5th District Congressman than it is than Pelosi loses her leadership position or her Critter status. And I don't even live in MN 5 anymore.
So from Pelosi's perspective why does the Democrat Party need a leader when she can live like the Red Queen in her castle, protected by armed federal law enforcement officers, on the backs of Democrat party taxpayers in her district?
