Trump's budget proposes privatizing air traffic control
and establishing a non-governmental private sector entity to run the nation's air traffic system.

There has been a ten year program to modernize the ATC system and it is estimated that it won't be ready until 2025, when the architecture will be almost 20 years old. The bureaucrats are more concerned with protecting their jobs than getting things done.

Canada, and several dozen other countries, have privatized ATC. And the Canadian system has one of the most advanced infrastructures in the world. It is so good, the President of America's ATC union told Congress he envies the Canadian controllers because of their equipment.

RE: Trump's budget proposes privatizing air traffic control
Nav Canada runs one of the safest systems in the world, and it has won three International Air Transport Association (IATA) Eagle Awards as the world’s best ATC provider. Nav Canada is a “global leader in delivering top-class performance,” says the IATA. Nav Canada has developed new technologies that it exports around the world.
