That's just a start but most important. I called for him to be dismissed in 11/15 and I don't think it would have worked here even with the above as the fans were done with Josh.

If you have season tickets like you say and are as much of a basketball genius as you claim to be, you'd realize that this post is mostly crap.

7 years of terrible fundamentals and excessive transfers is not all on the players. I watched every single home Pastner coached game from the stands except for 2 and although not a basketball 1%er like yourself, it was consistently some of the worst fundamentally coached basketball I've ever seen, excluding a few games.

I really wish those of you (like racecarguy and you) with agendas would just come clean.

The dancing around what you really think is tiresome and you're really bad at hiding it.

Can you not read and comprehend my post? Not going over every issue as it is self explanatory. Did this terrible basketball look pretty much like our half court offense this year? It was close to the lowest execution rate in Division 1. If you had any idea of the s*** the players tried and did do, you would think twice about your post.

Gotcha. 0% pastner, 100% players. For 7 straight years.

As I said, I called for Pastner to be dismissed earlier than most. Of those 7 years, first was to NIT only because of injury to Elliot Williams, then 4 straight NCAAs. We would have been the laughing stock of college basketball if we had fired Pastner immediately after that. Do you agree with that statement?

There's only one poster here apparently that knows the game of basketball, and its in and outs. The rest of us have no clue. It's nice being reminded again and again, isn't it?

If you are referring to me, my post is out there for rebuttal. Do it point by point to show us how smart YOU are.

I don't know about all of the above, but I did see Josh:

>Switch defenses effectively
>*Almost* get a Technical for arguing with the refs
>Call plays to get his big guy wide open repeatedly 5 feet from the rim

Whether it's his assistant coach, whether he's listening to him, or whatever, Josh *might* be getting it.

He still uses waves of coachspeak cliches in front of the camera tho. Some things don't change, I guess.

Again- while his last two seasons were sub par, and indeed, teams fell short of Sweet 16, the idea that we were terrible for 7 years is still asinine.

Yet perpetuated.

Often angrily.

Fell short of elite- evidenced by overall record against elite opposition. Was time for a change, but NOT because he was in over his head or anything like that.
Things move fast. Next season GTech will have expectations. Should they end up NIT level- their mouth breathers will turn way too quickly as well.

like I said earlier, good on him. Maybe getting #pushedout and landing on his feet rather than his ass was good for him and repressed his stubborn streak.

I work with a lot of GT grads and they are happy.

NIT wins are not much to get excited about. Pastner will probably make a big deal out of this....and that is a bit of his act.

To be fair, Cal sort of made a big deal of it his first 2 years here. Remember the whole, "I promised you a championship" after the NIT championship?

I know you're smarter than everyone and all, but how could you possibly know what kind of kids, parents, entourages, etc. he has at GT? I mean, I get that you like to blame everything on the players for Pastner and everything on the staff for Tubby - but still.

Tarik left that summer of 2013. Then you had the disastrous CBU loss in November 2014. Things were rough for 2 full years at least.

Same here - they're just giddy over Pastner. Personally, I'm glad he regrouped, learned from his mistakes, and is out there trying again. It's a good lesson for us all.
