What follows is a true story, I swear:
In the 1960s, the Georgia Bulldogs had a starting linebacker (good one, too) named Robert Dicks. His nickname was "Happy" and usually was called "Happy Dicks" on campus.
He got injured in a game and it was unclear if he would be able to play the next week. On Friday afternoon, the local paper in Athens finally got the word that Happy would, in fact, *not* be able to play in the game. This fact became known late on Friday afternoon when the 'professional' editors had gone home, and the UGA students (Journalism majors) were in charge of finishing up Saturday's morning edition. The next day's game happened to be Georgia vs South Carolina.
The main sports headline of the Athens Banner-Herald the next day appeared thus:
DOGS TO FACE 'COCKS WITH DICKS OUT
......
The player went on to graduate med-school (Univ. of Michigan) and had a highly distinguished career as a neurosurgeon. Yes, "Dr. Dicks". "Dr. Happy Dicks" to his friends.
Student-reporter Lewis Grizzard had a solid career himself, writing syndicated news-columns, books, and stand-up. He died rather young {<50} back in 1994.
