NCAA is probably just crossing all their t's and dotting all their i's.

Then again those in charge of ruling eligibility really probably doesn't care how long it takes. Now if his jersey read Kentucky, Duke, North Carolina, UCLA, they would have ruled on it yesterday and it would have always been a favorable ruling.

A slight correction to your post.
If it had been one of the schools that you mentioned, the NCAA would not even have looked at it. They would just rubber stamp the paperwork.

Does this let some air out of the sails for UTEP hoops this season? I know the Toppers escaped Laurentian but then come back and won by 55. I wouldn't be too discouraged by anything this early for sure. I might be a little concerned about guard play but plenty of time to develop.

I wouldn't put too much stock into that game other than the guards struggling.

I had to read up on McGill U since I'd never heard of them. Of course I'd never heard of Laruentian U until we played them.

They beat Kent State by 7 in Costa Rica. Lost to Lamar by 7 and beat you guys by 2.

Earlier in Montreal they lost by 3 in OT to SMU. Got boatraced by Bammer and Towson.

This trip was perfect for the Toppers just for the players to bond and get to know each other. And that's not hyperbole. They're all new except Justin Johnson. I'm sure Floyd will have his boys playing tenacious dee by conference play.

HUGE get, and likely the highest ranked MBB recruit by Rice in years. Borderline 4-star, and ranked as high as #145 nationally.

UTEP is in the running for 2017 unsigned player Devante Doutrive. It appears that the kid will be a prop 48 and not eligible until next season. He is visiting UTEP this week and has plans to visit Gonzaga and Oregon soon. He is rated as a 4*, 152 overall by 247 and 67th overall by Scout. He was the L.A. city selection player of the year averaging 22.3 points and 8.5 rebounds. He would be a great get by UTEP.

Prop 48 went out years ago. You are now just a qualifier or NQ. You can practice with the team if you have passed 10 hours of required core classes.

Did you guys hire Master Yoda to come up with this year's team slogan: "Ever Loyal Be"?

We started using Ever Loyal Be for all sports last year, not this year.

Ever Loyal Be comes from the last line of our Alma Mater:
I will ever loyal be, to thee my Alma Mater!

Okay, but I would have preferred the Yoda explanation.

We went with Buzz Lightyear for ours: "Aim High".

Marshall adds a tourney for next year 2018-19, might be the Bahama's. They will play Virginia and Maryland and then either get Utah or Creighton with the out comes of the 1st 2 games.

That means as of right now, next year Marshall will be playing:
Washington State
Gonzaga
Virginia
Maryland
Utah or Creighton

Dan not trying to duck anyone. Refreshing from 10 years ago with Donnie Jones, he scheduled 14 DII/NAIA programs in the regular season in 3 years.
