Speaking of which, Pastner has done a bang up job in year 1 at GA Tech...good for him.

Maybe Memphis really just wasn't a good fit.

He did pretty well at memphis with Calapari's kids too

Calipari took recruits with him when he left. He didn't leave much. Pastner was actually a great recruiter for the first 5 years with some top 10 or so classes, but under his coaching they underachieved. His last 2 years, things fell apart and players left in droves.

I guess Pastner finally got enough coaching experience to make a go of it at another school. Keep in mind, when he was hired at Memphis he had never been a head coach and in his one year as Calipari's assistant was a recruiter, not a floor coach.

Even after the dismal end to this season I'll see what happens next year before I completely throw in the towel on Tubby.

Other schools have far too much respect for the Pirates to take their BB coach.
