Right. X blocks them for the same reasons X doesn't want Dayton in-conference.

That's part of the reason but UC is still living the football fallacy. They wouldn't have spent $90 million on nippert renovations to join a b-ball only conference.

It's fallacious that we think we can compete at the highest level of football. Even if we get into a P5 conference we will never be competing for a national title. Fallacy.

Nope. We are a major research institution that strives to excel in all things. You, on the other hand are a troll who has serious issues to keep reincarnating yourself and hiding. Freaking pathetic.

My two cents.
UC will continue to be strong. UConn gets back on track. USF will be last next year.

There are only about 15 programs that compete for a national championship. I think a better measure is fan satisfaction. Would you rather drop football and compete at a slightly higher level in basketball or Keep the status quo. I vote for the status quo and possibly add some hoops only teams like Dayton and WSU.

Back on topic...I think this could be the best this league has been next year. Obviously we have to see if anyone declares (Ojeleye, Adams, etc) but this was a VERY YOUNG league this year, with some teams like UCF and Memphis playing with 6 players. Really a lot of teams this year had short benches (SMU, UConn). My early predictions for next year:

1. Cincy
2. SMU
3. UCONN
4. UCF
5. Temple
6. Houston
7. Memphis
8. Tulsa
9. Tulane
10. East Carolina
11. South Florida

Notes: Cincy should be the team to beat as they bring back most of their core. SMU is right there if Ojeleye returns.

I am banking on UCONN turning it around, but they will be integrating a lot of new pieces at the beginning of the year.

UCF has a real chance to be a tournament team next year.

Temple is my sleeper for next year. Good recruiting class, and while they took their lumps this year, they have a great crop of guards/wings.

Houston and Memphis could be solid depending on who is coming back.

This could be a 4-5 bid league next year. All teams need to do a better job OOC. This is what also hurt SMU when it came to seeding. They beat no one OOC.

Memphis will be fortunate to enter the NIT Tourney. The "Big Dance" is a stout ambition for a team likely losing its best player, bringing in a mediocre recruiting class, and helmed by a coach unable to stem 30+ blowouts in the last two games this season.

Seconded. UConn to the Big East is what's best for all parties at this point.

If the big east wanted UConn they would been gone yesterday. They are stuck here with the rest of us misfits. Welcome to pergatory.

This UCONN fan never believed the reports sending UCONN to the nBE. It was a red herring, IMO. Just like I don't believe the reports that have Wichita St coming to the AAC as a bball only. Other than tourney credits, what's the upside? I don't believe for a second that ESPN gives any thought to propping this conference up in bball, via "compelling" games. To do so would mean having to pay us more for our next contract, and that's just something that they have zero desire to do.

Ok buddy. I don't know what your problem is with Wichita State but I've about had enough of this crap. There's a butt load of good reasons to add them.
#1. Tourney Credits
#2. My cousin went to school there.
#3. It's the biggest basketball rivalry Tulsa has.
#4. We don't have to make a conference tourney bracket with an odd number of teams. I mean, do you know how stupid that makes us look??? How do you expect people to respect us with 11 teams in a bracket? People are like, "Power 6? You can't even make a tourney bracket correctly, morons."

So I say enough is enough! I've had it with this monkey-fied hate on this Monday to Friday subject!

Good day!!!

What you guys are missing is Uconn spent a ton of money to go Fbs in football, granted they thought bcs status and the big East were solid.
If the school didn't care much for football they wouldn't have gotten Edsall back. I better be carefull what I say defconn will negative rep me.

If the other members of the Big East and Fox felt that strongly about doubling down on the Cincinnati television market I expect Dayton would already be in. I've said it before, but if there's a second team in the AAC that makes sense for the BE it's probably SMU, as it'd get them into the Dallas-Fort Worth TV market and the teams into the Texas recruiting grounds a little better. I don't think SMU would value basketball that much more highly than football, as UConn conceivably could, so it likely wouldn't happen, but that's more likely to be team 12.
