NCAA tournament game are fixed. The only way for the power conferences to win.
SMU got robbed, even the announcers had a rooting interest.
Not the only non-power (bull$hit tag) to be robbed.
I'm done... Officially the last basketball game I will watch.

Thanks but no. We played like scared kids out there for the entire 2nd half. Jank was out coached. Shake couldn't muster the courage to pass the ball inside, and everyone went cold. This team would have eaten that zone alive if it were any other game...but tonight, they completely choked. This is on us. Sorry AAC, we are what you thought we were.

...but, but, but adding Wichita St, Dayton and VCU will totally 100% make us a power conference. Just ask the "Add Wichita St yesterday" crowd...they'll tell you.

Psshhh adding basketball schools will just make us a wannabe big east. A conference that was always barely a power conference.

Or maybe SMU for once had to play with referees who call it straight instead of calling it in their favor.
Perhaps they would've had more conference losses had they not gotten so much preferential treatment this year.

IMHO, with or without out Wichita State the AAC will get a nice bump $$$ in its next TV agreement... But with the Wichita's addition the AAC flexes it's muscle a bit more and shows the nation that this league means business.
Before Wichita is added though I say a GOR should definitely be a possibility.

We get the same amount of $$$$ we would've gotten without Wichita St. Which has been my point all along. Adding WSU does nothing to increase perception, prestige or any other adjective you wish to use, of the AAC in terms of $$$$.

No, it would make you a legit "tweener" conference in basketball, clearly above the other non-BCS conferences, much like you guys are in football.
Right now you guys have 4 quality programs (UConn, Memphis, Temple, Cincinnati), 1 program that is spending money and performing like a quality program (SMU) and 6 programs who are a drag on the conference. So a little less than half of SMU's conference games are against NCAA/NIT tournament-caliber opposition.
Bring in Wichita, Dayton and VCU and you have 7 quality programs plus SMU. That's the difference between a "mediocre conference with some good teams" and a "good conference with some bad teams."
Which means a lot come Selection Sunday. 3 more good teams boosts everyone's SOS and RPI, plus your tournament teams have a couple more games against quality opponents.
Much like bringing in Boise State would have crippled the Mountain West and made you guys the unquestioned #6 with real separation between #6 and #7-8-9-10, bringing in Wichita and Dayton and VCU cripples the A-10 and creates a real separation between #7 and #8-9-10.

No, if adding Wichita State means your league gets 2-3 more teams into the tournament over 10 years, that adds $$ to the conference.
And getting teams in the tournament has a little bit to do with prestige, perception etc. And a lot to do with metrics like RPI and SOS that heavily weigh how many quality programs you have in your conference vs how many dead-weight programs.

First of all, the Commissioner has shot down the idea of adding multiple basketball schools, so you can stuff your add "WSU, VCU and Dayton for bball" idea. Secondly, no it would not make us a tweener conference and you know it. It would make us the mid-major that ESPN wants us to be perceived as. Not to mention Greg Marshall already has one foot out the door, and WSU is not guaranteed to consistently make S16's and E8's going forward. so adding them is another mouth to feed. In case you haven't noticed we don't get paid a lot, and our next contract is not likely to increase a whole heck of a lot, either.

UH would be dumb to sign a GOR if anyone at this university agreed to that they need to be immediately fired. As soon as an opportunity arises to leave this conference UH needs to take it. The P5 would love for us to be stuck in this crap conference, we would literally be playing into their hands.

Agreed but lets sign a gor to ensure that every member is forced to stay and suffer. No one should be allowed to individually become better than the rest of this conference apparently lol.

LOL... Expansion has left and isn't coming back anytime soon, if a GOR can fetch say $$$8 - $$$10 million each I would definitely want Houston to sign it, hell, at least till the duration of its new contract is up... GORS aren't for ever.

How do we know expansion isnt coming anytime soon proof? The fact is singing a GOR guarantees we don't get into a P5 for a good while. There is no way we get offered that kind of money for a GOR.
